Definitely agree with this statement. Ward or Jackson would look awfully good in scarlet and gold. I would also say that Nelson may not be a fit because of his size, but his skills are pretty amazing for a young OL. Can't wait to see all three of these prospects perform at the Combine.

Ask any coach in the league. They would take a elite pass rush over an elite secondary any day of the week.

I think we add a few starting calibre corners and a pass rusher in free agency anyways before the draft.

If we sign Ziggy I can absolutely see us drafting Ward or Jackson.

I agree and would also take an elite pass rush over an elite secondary, but that wasn't the argument. You stated that it makes no sense to draft a corner. The two complement each other. Why do you think the Jags led the league in sacks? Pretty sure having Ramsey and Bouye had something to do with it too

A lot of scouts don't even watch OL/DL on day 1 of Sr. Bowl practice, because it takes a day to knock off rust, reacclimate to full contact technique/speed, and discipline pad level. Nobody got knocked down the draft board on day 1, not at DL, anyway.

He did fine against TE's/RBs in Mobile. A SAM shouldn't be one-on-one vs RTs, and a LEO should be penetrating on run downs to disrupt the play side blocking schemes on weak side runs and to close the back door on strong side runs.

That said, I'd want to see him drop in LB drills at the combine before I'd stated confidently that he can handle every responsibility at SAM.

I wouldn't take him in the 1st without a trade back (or 2) to secure day 2 capital, but OO is the one player I want above all others in this draft. He looked like a dynamic undersized edge in his tape, but his arm length and performance against TEs last week were eye-opening. He had a monster week. His height is now a strength, ow that it is combined w/orangutan arms to make him a leverage monster. His first step and bend are still tops in the class, imo. He attacks w/a game plan and a deep toolbox of moves and counters.
