Draft crushes don't matter at this point in the rebuild. Mine was Rosen but I'm more than happy with Garoppolo. If JG is to have a chance we need to get him blockers, a WR and another RB. Using our early first on one player (a running back) would be unwise.

We also need a pass rusher, CB, LB and depth on defense. Trading back should be a no brainer. Offensive linemen these days are having issues with the jump to the NFL so it may be wise to draft one and go after a couple in free agency. A good center in free agency would be nice. I'd like us to draft a very good gaurd if possible.

A good WR opposite Garcon is also necessary. This years WR class is decent. We could land a very good WR mid first if we trade back and also get a RB within the first 3 rounds. We don't need the best RB in the world, a great o-line can make a lot of RB's look good.

I'm basically of the opinion that we need to get this offense going in 2018. Defense is important but this teams long term strength will probably be offense.

Priority positions as of now:

Gaurds
Center
WR
RB
DE/pass rusher
CB
LB

You could switch the priority around some. Maybe RB/WR are more important than o-line but I doubt it. Pass rusher is always important. We need one.

In any event, we now have 4 picks in the first three rounds and $120 million cap space. Will probably be about $100 million if/when we sign Garoppolo long term. We have ammo but trading back would REALLY help.

The team has positioned themselves well for 2018. I think the team recognizes that there is still a ton of holes on it's roster and they will try to move down and accumulate more picks. If their unable to do so, they get to stay put and take a potential impact player in the top five of the draft. Any and all positions will be on deck now since the team has already answered it's biggest question mark at the QB position.

I expect fa to bring at least two new starters to the oline, another receiver and potentially a cb as well. The team has plenty of money and will be active. If they are forced to stay put and are unable to trade back there will be several possibilities tied to them. Bradley Chubb is my favorite edge rusher in the draft right now. I think he's the best two way defensive end in college football right now. He's already being mocked all the way up to five right now. I can see the team looking to more of a speed rusher though and if Arden Key continues to build off his last two games where he has looked like his 2016 self, look for him to only garner more steam during the pre draft process. Teams will fall in love over his athleticism, length, and arm length. A potential cornerstone tackle like McGlinchey will be linked to us because of Staley's age and inevitable decline in the not too distant future.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is a guy that will garner top five talk and is a prime chess piece in the back end of the defense.

The name that will be the heaviest linked to us will be Saquon Barkley. He's everything Kyle Shanahan could want in a back rolled into one package. Let the fun begin!

If we had a line I'd be all in on Barkley. It would be GREAT to have a decent o-line, Barkley and Garoppolo. Get a WR via free agency. No one says we can't upgrade that line in FA either....we don't need some high rd pick for a ZB OG either. I'm with ya with building the OL but IMO it doesn't have to be with our top pick.

Barkley is the best RB I've seen (in college) in some time...he's a perfect fit for kyles offense as well.

Center/OG/DB in FA then if you can trade down a spot or two and still land Barkley imo that's best case.

Hyde is a good back but it all comes down to what kind of money he's looking for. Barkley is a blue chip prospect. He's a better prospect than both Ezekiel Elliot and Leonard Fournette to me. He's perfect for Kyle's scheme and can literally do everything. He's younger than Hyde, less milage and less injuries on that body.

Although we have a need at multiple positions, the toughest one to fill after the QB position is edge rusher. I say we get the best available with our highest pick. I believe we can fill many other positions with quality players with our remaining picks.

We need an oline to have a running game, our running backs are fine. As the oline and dline goes so does the offense and defense.

Depends on FA, but right now I think we need to go oline. I understand Barkley is a sexy pick and I wouldnt be mad if we got him, but I think the responsible thing to do is get a blue chipper on the line. Barkley sould prob require the top 1 or 2 pick anf I think we should trade back and fill some holes. But its a bit too early to say.

I am not.

He wont hit 1k this year, even with Shanny, and i know OL play has been bad, but i don't trust him to effectively and consistently get to the outside. I dont see him as a great fit in the system. He runs great north/south in this system, but he is not a great fit IMO, and certainly not a long term solution at RB IMO.

Reread the bold. I already covered the offensive line. These are names that I just expect to be tied to the 49ers, which also included an offensive line prospect. These are not all of my own personal top prospects.

While on the subject though. Like it or not, Barkley is a ridiculous talent that fits this offense perfectly. The connections between him and the 49ers are already being formed in early mocks and this season is only halfway over. Just wait until the off-season. Those ties are only going to grow in speculation. This is not just a two year rebuild. If you have a chance to get a generational talent like Barkley and you can't trade down, you take it. It's not like the team would just select a running back with a top five draft pick and never try to upgrade the offensive line in front of him again. We have plenty of cap space to upgrade the oline. You can't say our running game is fine either because you don't know what happens with Hyde at this point. There is no guarantee that the team will resign him.

I think they're going with BPA, unless they get a good deal and trade down like last draft. I haven't been following rankings, but assuming we pick #2 or #3, I think we go for Barkley, since QB is off the board.

I will be VERY surprised if Barkley is a 49er next year. Trading down, getting multiple picks, and addressing the OL, CB, edge rusher, and WR spots just makes so much more sense. One RB, no matter how great he may be, is not going to fix the 49ers.
