lol easy killer don't wet the paper yet. all i am saying is he's not a top 10 talent in this draft. just given off of the class no. Defense will reign this draft. Yes his bro hasn't done much, but has the tools to be better. and when his brother comes out who knows he may well be a top 10 pick come then. let's see how he does with Fromm. maybe he improves his game. kind of hard to hate on the guy when he turns it up on the biggest stage of his career. plus given the depth the Dawgs have at the WR, & TE spot plus you through in both those RB's...yeah there's some depth constraints there. they did a great job of distributing the ball all around this year.
all i said is i don't see Calvin being a top 10 pick, lol nothing wrong with that. given the talent at D, and the given need...no i don't see him as a top 10 pick. now for his bro, who the fk knows but if that game jump-starts his activity in Athens then watch out. man i watch a ton of SEC foots so i'm not out of the loop.
lol fkn webzone no sht so many of you get your panties in a wad..and do so right quick.
What is it that you don't like about him? Outside of not being 6-3 220 lbs? He's an elite route-runner and gets separation constantly. He avg over 15 ypc this season.
He's not gonna run a tyreek hill 40, but dude is fast as s**t...size isn't everything at WR, Brown/OBJ don't have elite size. Jerry rice was far from the biggest guy out there.
Personally I don't see us drafting a offensive skilled position early, but Ridley would be ideal in this system. IF we really want to move down a couple spots plus get him im all for it!
Matt miller just stated that the nfl personnel he's spoken to thinks he's gonna be the top wr in his class and a top 15 pick ( or higher). Sounds right to me.
Size means nothing to me when looking at a player. lol granted it helps but as we have seen in the past, you can be 6'5 and run a 4.4 but just can't cut it.
I really do think he was letdown by the QB play of Hurts this past year (hell even last year) He was open so many times, and Hurts just wouldn't pull the trigger. I'm still shocked that Bama can not get a QB like McCarron was for them. Okay off track here, but I do think the poor QB play played a mental part to say on Ridley. I would get down too man, if all i do each game is bust my ass off and my QB is unable to get me the damn ball when i'm wide fkn open. IMHO he was underutilized while at Bama, and that's one thing that I just never understood.
he runs beautiful routes indeed. his experience will set him way apart from his draft positional group. his freshman year was insane!!!!! shows you how much a good QB helps. big play ability is there no doubt,
my cons: is that he can easily get taken out at the line of scrimmage. i saw this a lot over the last 2 years. a lot of times though i would wonder was that because he was tired & they just weren't getting him the ball? Clemson did a great job at this in both games. he needs to get stronger and be more aggressive at the line of scrimmage. this can be easily taught.
can & how much bigger can he get to that little body of his? can he endure a full season of big hits with his little body is what gets me. I heard he weighed in at 180 for the title game.
i would like to see him be more aggressive in securing the catch too. when battling with the DB. I guess with the above & this it equates to "STRONGER HANDS"
I don't see him being a #1 WR in the NFL. not yet at least. It will take a few years to get there. I see him more as a #2. A complimentary wr to say.
if you're like me & have watched every bama game here over the last 2 years then you know he can go through a little period of having the drops.
i'm not big on this WR class and that is maybe why i'm just not sold on him as being a top 10 pick. he's easily the best WR i think in the class. but given the depth of defense and who will be available especially when we are picking, i just don't see the fit. not right there. not with the glaring need on the D side of the ball. We need a lot of depth there.
of course free agency sets the table up a lot better for the draft.
