Penny is far more productive, much faster and more explosive, has super high special teams value and is 20 pounds bigger and stronger and more powerful. There is no comparison at all.

I think it's debatable at this point between Chubb and Penny for #2.

~ Chubb 4.52 40. 2017 production is 1,345 yards and 15 TD's.

5'11" 228 lbs.

~ Penny 4.46 40. 2017 production is 2,248 yards and 23 TD's. He led FBS. He also has 7 return TD's which is tied for an FBS record. Even more impressive when you understand they were afraid to kick off to him. He would have more easily if they would kick to him.

5'11" 220 lbs.

They are pretty similar on height and weight. Almost the same in fact. #2 is Penny. Only Barkley goes ahead of him at RB. Even Mel Kiper said he can go #2 of the RB's. Mayock calls Penny very underrated. I believe strongly Penny goes #2 of the RB's. Plus he is worth that easily IMO. Not that Chubb is a bad player. I think he is good. I would just take the more speed at the NFL level.

Barkely is a freak at 233 lbs. and running a 4.40. But lost in all that is Penny at 220 lbs. running a 4.46 and having the huge production that he has is actually very impressive. He is no slouch. He is the real deal and an excellent athlete in his own right.

You're ignoring the fact that outside of 40 time (very min difference between 4.52 and 4.46) except at 8 pounds heavier Chubb was better at every other measurable at the combine including vertical, bench, broad jump while showing more length and he had to split time with another top prospect in Sony to explain his production.

I really like Penny too but Chubb showed amazing physical ability.

I wouldn't be mad if we traded down and got extra picks in the second, or traded up a bit in the second. The second and third rounds appear to be full of value this year. Moreso than the first, in my opinion. I think someone, possibly even the shehawks, will pay Hyde more than we will, and we're going to need a quality back with some size.
