Yes, teams have a good idea of what grades other teams have on players. Clearly, they felt comfortable enough waiting to take CJ Beathard where they did, which was substantially earlier than anyone had him going. Similarly, Lynch also talked about almost taking Trent Taylor in the third round, but they waited due to having a good idea of where he stood on other team's boards.

Anyways, I'm not here to debate interpretations. I feel confident Kyle won't love any of the top quarterbacks(Rosen being the only wildcard, IMO), and you feel confident about your opinion. We'll see what happens.

You're taking that way too literally. When Shanahan said Beathard was the only QB he wanted in this draft class, what he was really saying is that he's the only QB he wants when he was available in the draft.

He didn't come out and say Beathard was a better prospect than Trubisky, Watson, Kizer, etc. None of those guys may have been on his list if he didn't want to pick them in the first or second round.

Shanahan thought Beathard was the best value where he'd be available in the draft, not the best player. And he may not have wanted him as a franchise QB, but as a long term backup.

I thought he also wouldnt mind Trubisky but nowhere near a first or early second. The more I think about it we get the RB Possible make a trade or two and get the best O lineman and pass rusher available. Get cousins which will cost but he'll be light years better than Hoyer and give beathard at least 3 years to learn kinda of like Jimmy G in NE.
