There's a lot of info out there on his alleged addiction and taking a leave from school to go to rehab.
We reached out to two NFL teams that spoke with Key to find out what happened — and we double-checked with a source in Baton Rouge. Key left the program to enter rehab, they said, for marijuana. The feeling we got was that the NFL wasn't too concerned about that, even though he was briefly suspended after one failed test upon returning to school.

I found this a while back when doing research on Key. The poster claims to have inside info on Arden and posted this in May of 2017. If you read that thread, the poster seems to be extremely connected:
I'll start off with what I've found out about Arden Key. Arden was a path of destruction & may have already hurt his draft stock. Key has been a complete party animal since arriving at LSU. He has failed multiple drug test, has made a habit of not going to his classes & has gigantic ego. When Key's father got wind back in Georgia about what was going on with his son on the LSU campus, he came get Arden & brought him back home to Georgia to straighten his ass out. He didn't want his son to blow this once in a lifetime opportunity. Now come draft time next year, NFL scouts will find out about what Key was doing at LSU & the failed drug tests. He may have already done damage to his stock. Many of the early 2018 mocks have him going #1 overall. Arden has to come back to campus with a laser sharp focus & leave the foolishness behind. He needs to adapt a business mindset. The one bright spot out of this is that he is up to 260 lbs. We just have to see how he performs with his new added weight. If he performs with the same speed & quickness, the questions about his weight will go out the window.

Story matches up with everything Arden's dad said here:
His biggest change took place this spring. He left the LSU football team — his own decision, his father said — for about four months, taking a leave of absence for what the school termed "personal reasons."
The reasons remain a mystery. No one will comment on them publicly, something that's led to speculation and rumor. Arden Key Sr. declined to specifically address them Friday. Key Jr. has been unavailable for interviews this fall.
"Let the past be the past," Key Sr. said. "All those rumors are going to surface through his career. As a family, we had challenges and we worked through them, and we're still working through them."
His son's issues evolved from his "instant success" in football, he said. It resulted in Arden Jr.'s life becoming unbalanced.
"It was time to take time away from football," Key Sr. said. "He lost himself. He had so much success early. All the pressures of being a student-athlete. We forget he's still a kid trying to balance life out. It was all coming down on him."
His son spent his time away from football at home, Arden Key Sr. said, staying with his mother in Atlanta. He "reconnected" with the family, removing himself from that bright spotlight.

If the team drafts this guy, they deserve what they've got coming to them.
Headlines of
Reuben Foster arrested again and
Arden Key arrested in the same week is a very realistic scenario.
