LOVE the 1st round - IMO - 2 potential Impact players on a team w/out one.

Buck has a chance but that's a wait & see.

Overall solid draft...your not gonna get elite players at every position in one draft.

I think if you add in the 2nd & 3rd next yr I give it a A-

A-

• Potential for 4 starters Thomas, Foster, Witherspoon, and Kittle
• 3 guys who can contribute right away in important limited roles.. Williams (3rd down), Taylor (slot) Jones (rotation NT)
• 2 special teams contributors who can learn at their positons (Colbert and Pia)
• additional 2nd and 3rd rd picks in 2018

It would be an A to A+ if they had waited a round or 2 and gotten Beathard or Peterman but that is truly nitpicking.

Aside from not drafting Oline, we haven't seen such a well rounded draft with potentially 4 starters. I'm hoping Beathard proves a lot of us here wrong. At worst, he's potentially a solid backup on the cheap. Love that we draft specific players that fit our Off. and Def. scheme as opposed to drafting boom or bust, or acl rehab players. So glad that York fired the other GM.

We got two starters/impact players. Everyone else seems like average depth at best.

I think for us to move in a positive direction as a team we needed more more than that. We needed to get at least 3 serious starter candidates and a few players who can be impact players even if they aren't starting. I don't feel like we did that.

Balancing the success of day with the lack luster days 2 and 3 I gave it a B-

Hard to argue with the qb pick. I watched the combine and I even documented here that he looked the best throwing the ball and had the best delivery. His arm strength is deceptive and his throwing motion is ultra smooth and extra quick.

He is also one of the very few QBs who played under center in college. You can rave about the other guys but they cant even hike the f**king ball yet.

This will prove to be possibly the best pick in the entire draft once Shanahan gets his hands on him.

This guy has the pedigree and he will succeed at the next level.

I also give the draft an A+

Every single player will play and contribute this year. Maybe even Bethard.

So much to like from this draft. Would have like to seen more invested in a pass rusher but for a 6th pick Pita looks good.

Was scratching my head with the Beathard pick like everyone else but the more I hear the more I like.

I think we covered lots of bases and there isn't a player I don't like. Took some nice flyers late. Killed it day one. Excited to see our defense take a step forward!

Yes, it seems like Lynch doesn't focus on getting great value with his picks. They fall in love with their guys and pick their BPA, even if he would be available later.

Beathard - drafted 3rd, probably would have been available late 4th
Taylor - drafted 5th, probably would have been available in 6th
Colbert - drafted 7th, probably would have been UDFA

Most important is good talent evaluation and getting the best guys, but if that guy would have been available later, then they aren't getting the best value. Better to trade back or pick a guy who wouldn't be available later and instead get your guy later.
