MadDog, thanks for contribution to the Webzone. Always appreciated.
What is your take on Ruben Foster and the rumors of the Niners interest in him after a trade down? My hope is the Niners go for a Pass rusher, WR, or a DB in the top 10. LB can wait till the middle rounds.
Foster is an amazing talent, but I think maturity factors drive him down the board for me. Especially if he wants to be a team leader as MLB. I don't see a team trading up to 2.
So, million dollar talent and 5 cent head? I hope the Niners agree and pass on draft day.

Jameis winston stole crab legs and was the subject of multiple nationwide media stories - QB of the Bucs and leads the offense just fine
Ray Lewis was involved in a double homicide investigation and lead the ravens for years. He's one of the best ILB's ever.
I could go on and on... It's just a bit disengnious to drop him that far for something that we don't even have the full story on.

So many great safeties in this draft...and so few OT's. Decent to developmental OT's are going to be drafted WAY earlier than expected, while some really quality safeties will be on the board in the fourth round.
Great year for the secondary. Best I can remember in quality depth.

The DT position is so weak in this draft, that it makes players like Malik McDowell really jump up the boards. Simply not many guys that can make plays, even if they are inconsistent.

Late round WRs going to make some noise on the field in 2017. Some of the names that I think can surprise: Josh Malone (In one game this year, he could have had three long TD catches but Dobbs massively underthrew him); Josh Reynolds (made some really big plays at some critical times in 2016); Kenny Golladay (great productivity and size); Chad Williams (excellent week at the Senior Bowl showed he could play against the big boys); and little Trent Taylor (the most productive WR in college last year). In a league that emphasizes throwing the ball, we have a classic battle this year between the studly CB class and impressive WR class.

Baalke left too soon.

IMO, McDowell should be up on teams boards regardess. I think he can be an immediate impact player.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO inconsistent. I can't imagine him being high on the 49ers board. Lynch wants guys who LOVE the game, and nothing about McDowell's play suggests that to me.

Our GM has a DB background. Curious to how Lynch plays the draft and if he believes in his ability to find talent in the mid to later rounds.

The more I've read about this draft the more I hope we are able to trade down, but I doubt it.
Basically after Garret the next pool of like 8-10 guys are considered even. Nobody knows who will shine and who will fail there. While I believe Thomas will be gone, there is a chance whoever we wanted at 2 could be there at 8 since I'm sure at least one QB or even two could go (Jets).
