SAM: Michael Morgan (4.46) vs. Eli Harold (4.58; low of 4.48 @ 247); Gerald Hodges (4.70)
MLB: Bobby Wagner (4.45) vs. Navarro Bowman (4.62)
WLB: KJ Wright (4.71) vs. Ray-Ray Armstrong (4.69); Wynton McManis (4.68)

I agree with Hero that Bruce Irvin is the ideal SAM...came out at 6'3" 245 and packed on 10-15 insta-pounds from Pete's steroid-and-PED-flush diet. But he also ran a 4.50 with that speed (one of the fastest LB's in Seattle's defense over the years who happens to play the SAM).

This is why I think Harold will be asked to go back to his normal weight, around 250 and challenge for the SAM. He's not a dynamic edge rusher and therefore, won't be ideal for the LEO. But he is athletic and can add a bit of pass rush on the strong side, has played in space, has had to cover TE's and a huge part of his role as a WILL in our old 3-4, was sifting through traffic and setting the edge, all roles he'd play as a SAM.

Haasan Reddick is an interesting prospect for the SAM. He's an the smaller side, but a quick, do-it-all LB. I imagine he'll weigh in around 245.

Harris would match up perfectly as our LEO in the mold of Cliff Avril.

Yeah Hero you nailed it with Tyus. I also like Anzalone,Cunningham,McMillan,Anderson,Watt. Might be forgetting a couple others.

Bowser was used as a drop linebacker at Houston, so his pass rushing exposures are fewer and far between compared to other edge players in this class. However, his true versatility will intrigue a number of teams. He projects somewhere in any scheme, and this level of athleticism will feed into an "upside" label. At worst his evaluation has a second round feel to it.

Would like to get anyone on this list except for Cunningham as the SAM. Cunningham is more of a WILL LB IMO. Run and chase with not a lot of strength. Right now, I would put Watt and Bowser at the top of my wishlist for the SAM on the Niners.

Would take him in a heartbeat in the 2nd round. Perfect fit for what the Niners need.

Yup. Top tier athleticism, and it shows when you watch him play. He can rush the passer a bit and drop back in space. Has closing speed to make a tackle in the open field. Would make a really good SAM prospect.

Two guys that stood out to me during the combine were Tyus Bowser outta Houston and Blair Brown outta Ohio. They both had good speed to them and preformed well in the drills I saw. Bowser looks like he is gonna be a 3rd maybe 2nd now and Brown looks like a 5th or 6th round sleeper.

Ryan Anderson

Thick through shoulders and chest with good upper-body power. Exhibits professional approach on the field. Disciplined and married to his assignments. Stays clean. Comes into the league with NFL-caliber hand work. Ready hands at point of attack with a willingness to stick and move to avoid being swallowed by size. Sets a sturdy edge and makes a point to physically challenge tight ends early in the game. Will "dead arm" inside shoulder to alter blocker's balance and sneak around the outside hand. Relentless charge as a pass rusher and gets home thanks to his effort. Leverages runners to the sideline and rarely gives up a cut-back lane. Tackle finisher who is always hustling. Plays teammate ball over hero ball. Has experience at outside linebacker in both 3-4 and 4-3. Forced five fumbles over last two seasons.
