If you need technical analysis to tell the difference between Eric Reid and Jamal Adams i dont think anyone can help you. We just have different ideas about what good football players are. Im not going to hold your hand and spell it out for you.

I was speaking in regards to cutting up the tape. Cutting up safety tape on the television broadcast is agonizing. You really need the all-22.

Although I wouldn't personally take him at 2, I do like Adams a lot.

Adams is a good player - "elite tackler" no - but he's still good.

But there's a higher ranked Safety who also happens to play an extremely important position for our scheme, who is a pick 6 machine, and has elite range and instincts, who will also happen to be there when we pick at 2.

I'll take Hooker > Adams for single high FS in our scheme. Give me the guy who did exactly what he's going to be asked to do, and who did it really well. No projection, no questions as to which safety role he'd play. Put Hooker at Single High, put 8 in the box, and let's roll!

The same way i cherry picked Hookers 5 miss tackles against clemson. I went to nfldraftbreakdown and looked at the same tape you just posted highlights from. Both safties made plays in their respected games but you cherry picked Adams bad ones to prove your point.

I could take Hookers 5 miss tackles or bad angles and make a thread calling him the worst safety ever. Doesnt mean im right.

I agree with you about Hooker and that's exactly why I would pick him over Adams. Now I like Adams a lot as a SS, but if I have to pick 1, it's Hooker.

How do you feel about Eric Reid? Me personally I think he is a liability who plays not to get hurt. It's too bad, but he's a concussion away from never playing again. Moving to the box is only going to increase those odds.

When Lynch said he's looking for a cornerstone player that they're passionate about, my intuition instantly pointed to Jamal Adams. High character, lunch pale player that plays with an innate fire. He has John Lynch written all over him.

I had the same thought.

And I'm not convinced Adams can't play center field. With Ward and Adams at FS and SS respectively, we'd have two guys who mostly played in the box in college but who can probably be very effective in the deep third.

I think Reid is out the door next year and Tartt is solid depth.

Having said that, if Hooker is healthy and he's the pick, I'm all for it.

I agree with all of this. I feel Hooker has a higher ceiling and would be a match made in heaven for the scheme we are running as well. He instantly improves the passing d and the pass rush. I'll take coverage sacks! Those are like refined/educated sacks lol

And honestly anyone complaining about Hookers tackling...... if he's the single high safety and we are relying on him to tackle rb's and te's etc he's the least of our problems since 7-8 other guys didn't tackle his ass either lol.
