Genus, assuming the 49ers don't draft Solomon, you know we're here for you.

Nope. Then slide inside to NT on passing downs like Bennett does in Seattle.
The whole problem with 3000 posts of arquing back and forth is that Thomas would get killed inside at 3T full time. Play him like Bennett sure but then what do we do with Buck and AA?

Interesting. Now that AA is slotted as a potential LEO. I would be more comfortable taking Solomon at 2, since I think he is better playing inside rather than outside.

I've always liked Thomas. Just didn't see a fit and I wasn't ready to throw AA away as quickly as you are.
I've said it a million times that Thomas best fit is LDE
Agreed.
All 3 downs?
Doesn't work that way imo. They will want the best 11 out there and Thomas's versatility to start at different positions will give him the opportunity to see a ton of snaps on this talent poor defense.

Betting odds for the pick at 2 led by Thomas
+160 Thomas
+300 Mitch
+800 Lattimore
+1000 Myles
+1200 Allen

Lol, I'm prepared for it, especially if we trade down. I get my favorite player every once in a while. Buckner was my top guy in the first last year so unfortunately I'm due for disappointment.

Same here, he could be a monster 3 tech or big end. He's not one of my guys because I really cant imagine drafting a DL in the 1st round 3 years running but if he's the pick so be it. Pairing him with Buckner gives the 49ers 2 elite DL for at least the next 4-5 years, I can live with that. Similar to when the 49ers invested heavily in the offensive line pre Harbaugh with Staley, Iupati and Davis, they weren't sexy picks at the time but no doubt set the team up for future success. I buy into that whole philosophy build the house from the ground up, that starts in the trenches.

AA 5.10 40 and a 1.76 10 yard split. Thomas a 4.69 40 and a 1.66 10 yard split. Interestingly enough AA and Solomon both have 33" arms except Thomas put up 30 reps of 225 to AAs 24.

Has to bend to play LEO effectively, though. I'm not convinced.

I feel if Garrett isn't on board and we don't want a qb sitting at number 2. He's the pick

Meh, he was moving with his legs on that and didn't keep his center which means he did not have a strong base. Player on the right kept his legs under him the entire time.

If we can't trade out and don't like Mitch he is the best of the defenders.

Lynchs current weight issues combined into what is looking like a more serious shoulder issue for AA is making our need for Solomon higher.
