At this point Lynch is a hands in the ground rusher he shouldn't be looked as the Leo. More of a Frank Clark nickel rusher is how we should be looking at him. Thomas isn't a Leo either so he won't help there. The fact is we just have to draft an edge rushing Leo somewhere.

AA's question marks definitely open the door for Thomas and based off Maiocci's 1st depth chart it looks like he can play his ideal 5 spot a hefty chunk of the time. I imagine Buckner will still rotate there.

The shoulder was fixed

The shoulder had surgery done on it...we don't know what the condition of it is.

Look at Justin Smith's comments after his shoulder surgery. He said he was never the same after it and was just lucky it happened at the tail end of his career vs early on.

Hopefully Armstead's shoulder isn't the same condition but playing on a bum shoulder for a long time doesn't help the long term health.

He is young. It's harder to bounce back when you hit that 30+ threshold. If it was successful surgery and he did the rehab, he should be good.

Hopefully but you never know. There's a reason Jonathan Allen's stock has dropped and it has nothing to do with his playing ability. He's young...but people have concerns about those shoulders long term.

He has arthritis, big difference.
This dude took a class with Lynch, and even worked on a project with him. He and McCaffrey are easily the two guys Lynch knows best.
Lots of LEOs in this draft, we can draft Thomas and still get a stud pass rusher at the top of the 2nd. Right now if we stick at 2 I'm pretty comfortable with anyone. Don't really want an RB or QB that high though. I prefer Trub over Watson though.
Probably already posted but IDGAF.

As detailed here by the MMQB's Jenny Vrentas, Lynch returned to Stanford to finish his degree during Thomas' freshman year and they took a class together, Management Science and Engineering.
