I've noticed a recurring theme of inability to compartmentalize with this guy's posts.

If you read the screen/reverse off the bat making the play is easy.

Ive noticed a recurring theme of poor analysis coming from you, first it was your evaluation of Jamal Adams now youre calling the 49ers DL the slowest most unathletic front in the NFL. IMO youre just off base on most of what you post.

of course, you don't need to be physically fast to read a screen or reverse because reading a screen is a cerebral function. Nobody mentioned anything about reading, tho...

Thank you.

Reading the screen/reverse off the bat helps players make the plays faster...it doesn't guarantee they can physically get to the necessary spot or make the tackle.

What is the main argument here... let papa smoke set it straight for us

Shooting the gaps is meant to be disruptive and get instant penetration in the backfield. The goal is to play on their side of the LOS not ours like in a read and react 2 gapping scheme.

Interesting that the most popular player in the WZ is a guy who will be drafted to play outside, a position he's never played full time.

While they're simultaneously still celebrating the firing of a man who made a habit of drafting players to move them out of their natural position.

Guess as long as Baalke isn't attached to it its all good.

Reasonable reaching right there running away with two players when we were stacked lol.
How much of a difference does Thomas' play compare to Blairs at this very moment.
Thomas was originally my favorite pick but at this point whatever happens happens. Just want to get over with it.

That's EXACTLY the reason I do not get the love affair with Thomas.

We have his clone already on the roster.

Everyone is making the argument AA gets screwed if Thomas comes here... Actually Blair does cause I think if Thomas comes, it HAS to be with the thought that there's a very good chance AA,Buck and Thomas can be 3 down players for us at the same time.

The who do you want at #2 poll says otherwise.

As for Baalke making a habit of drafting players to move them...who have we really done that with outside of Carradine and Ward?

Also nobody is saying Thomas is being drafted to play Leo or SAM strictly. Most people who want him on the team understand he can contribute all along the DL and those type of players make it much easier on defensive coaches and a better DL makes it that much easier for the rest of the defense.

There have been plenty of successful player position moves, just because Baalke failed with Carradine doesn't mean it's a terrible move. Not to mention moving a prototypical 4-3 DE coming off ACL injury to a 3-4 DE is very different. Basically it worked very well with Justin Smith and he figured it will work with Tank.

Thomas is a very different player and his athletic ability says if he gets the opportunity to play on the outside he'll make plays.
