I wouldn't give up our future 1st for Jimmy. I like him. Would love to get him but not for a First round pick.

to me while he was on the field he looked like a franchise quarterback.. his numbers were actually slightly better then Tom BBrady's are. He makes good decisions has a quick release and is very accurate. yes teams have been duped with Matt cassle andv Matt Flynn but he looks like the real deal. I'd give up a first in a heartbeat
Like I said I like him but not worth a top 15 pick IMHO.
Too many fans create these convenient hypothetical scenarios where you just trade down to whatever position you'd like. It doesn't work that way.

To go from 4 to 2 might not seem like a big jump, but it is an 800 point jump, which equates to a 1st round pick in the early 20s. I don't see any team giving up their extra first this year(if they've got one) or next year to move up 2 spots.

There's a reason the majority of trades into the top 5 are from desperate teams moving up for a QB, and in this care, we already are that desperate team.

If I were GM:

- we'd still have Harbaugh

- we'd still have Alex w/ Kap on the bench

- we would've drafted Ajayi

- we would've drafted Marcus Peters

- we would've drafted Mathieu

- we would've resigned Crabtree instead of Torrey

- we would've drafted Deasean Jackson over f**king Kentawn Balmer

- would trade for Josh Gordon

- would pursue Alshon in the off season

oh... and we'd still have Vernon Davis and Frank Gore

Most of those moves would've actually been beneficial to the team. Which on do you specifically find funny?

word is jets are high on Trubisky and there are more ways to get to your "point total then another first. . . and that's more of a guide then a law..

yes, it is mainly a guide, but almost all trades that take place hit their appropriate numbers if you add them up.

how bad would our new GM look if they allowed a team to trade up and grab someone that turned out be a franchise quarterback? a mistake our franchise cannot afford.

how bad would it look if we took said Qb that we are 70% on and he busts while Jimmy goes on to have a long and fruitful career.... my point is there will always be what ifs in this game.. my post was only half serious I know this isn't Madden I know how things work but I would try to get bpa at the top of the draft and go get Jimmy
