Really Mel Kiper..?

Niner nation, drafting best player available is past practice and smartest. QB in the 2nd or trading up for a QB is recipe for success. Cleveland is guna do the same. Say goodbye to Myles Garret. He is going to be in Brown country.

In a draft heavy on pass rushers this isn't the worst scenario. Find a trade partner, add a couple picks, and take The BPA not named Fournette. Foster or T Williams would be my choice.

Trubisky is raw, only a 1yr starter at UNC

Watson has the experience out of the 5

Kaaya is inconsistent, plus I don't think he fits Chip's offense.

Kizer is is very raw, I think he's only started 1 full season

Barrett has experience, but also seems raw, which I know is contradicting myself, but I'd like to see him get more experience.

Personally I would wait till rd 2, and pick someone like Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk, or Patrick Mahomes.

I'd stay away from CJ Beathard, too slow, and Chad Kelly, torn ACL, and has off the field issues, plus he's been kicked off every football team that he was on before he went to Ole Miss.

Edit: And I wouldn't take any of these QBs at the top of the draft. My pick is Myles Garrett. I also wouldn't mind getting Takkarist McKinley or Mike Williams(He's come back strong from his neck injury last year). Look out for Houston OLB Steven Taylor, kid is a pass rush beast, and a sack machine, I have him as a 1st rd talent.

So if Garrett is taken 1st overall and we are sitting at #2 who do we take? You don't think #2 is a little high for mike Williams? How do you feel about Allen?

Take a QB IMO or trade down with someone that wants Allen/QB...Allen is a good player but we already have a ton of young players at DL. Sticking him in at NT would be a huge waste of his talents and you don't take a player at 2 to form a rotation.
How sure are we that the browns will take garrett? its very possible they could take a QB.

we aren't sure to be honest...hell if they win one game and we stay the same we get the first pick

It's also been reported they are very interested in Mitch (I don't think he makes it to their 2nd 1st).

The franchise, which uses a heavy reliance on analytics, has strong grades on him, and it's not a secret in the scouting community how highly the Browns rate him.

"They love him," a top evaluator from another NFL club said. "Trust me, they love him."

At 6-feet-3, Trubisky has the arm strength to play in the adverse conditions of the AFC North. Sources said the Browns have done extensive work on the native of nearby Mentor, Ohio (about a half hour from Cleveland). The Browns had scouts in attendance at his game Saturday and have tracked him very closely.

personally it's a win win for us Myles falls to 2 or Mitch is sitting there at 2...I'd love either one.

The question really is...

WHAT IS THE FUTURE PLAN IN REGARDS TO OUR COACHING STAFF??

Is there already a plan if Chip registers a 5 win season next year? Are we honoring the length of his contract? if we are, can both QB (Trubee and Watson) fit in the "Machine Gun" Offense??

judging from mocks that's not true...QB regardless of talent level get pushed up higher based on need. I just can't see Mitch and Watson going in the 2nd.

Last year at this time most people here were like "yeah, the 49ers don't need to take a QB early, they can draft Carson Wentz in the 2nd round"

Yup lol I was all over Wentz with our 2nd this time last yr. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 QBs taken in the 1st.

Yeah I think Mike Williams at 2 might be a bit high, I'd then try and trade down a fee spots, pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd, and take Williams then.

Allen I really like, I wouldn't draft him in round 1 though for us, not after taking Buckner and Armstead two years in a row, now if we fire O'Neil, and decide to go to a 4-3, then yeah I'd be for taking Allen #2 overall.

And if we stick with a 3-4 scheme, I would consider Takkarist McKinley in the top 10.

Yeah no way Trubisky, and Watson fall out of round 1, I can see as many as 5 going in rd 1, depends on if teams try and trade back into the back end of rd 1 for a guy like Barrett or Kizer. Or even Kaaya.

iv seen more mocks going watson in 2nd recently. his knock for not being able to read the field. Niners nation just had a mock of i think foster in the first and watson in the second. But it is a fact talent wise disreguard position, no qb is top 10 let alone 15.

Yeah saw that mock changes every day lol...I agree talentwise there are better players at other positions but end of the day need especially at qb will trump.
