The Sporting News' Eric Galko believes that Houston OLB Tyus Bowser deserves legitimate consideration as a first-round prospect.
"He'll be on the second-round radar after the NFL Scouting Combine is through," Galko writes, "but his skillset, versatility, and remarkable value for 3-4 and 4-3 teams scream first-round prospect." Earlier this week, an AFC Scouting Director forwarded the belief that the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder will start early during his career in the NFL. Galko's Round 1 talk might be a little on the rich side, but a second- or third-round selection is very much in play.

He looks like more of a coverage OLB but looks pretty solid

With all of the support for Solomon Thomas at #2, I figured this thread shouldn't die. I can't decide who I want at #2, I can't sell myself on Thomas. I think he'd be very beneficial to the defense, but any pass rusher behind Myles Garrett will feel like an L. Trubisky at 2, pass. Don't want Fournette at 2. I like Hooker or Adams, but we have CBs so Ward seems like a lock to move to FS. Don't see Foster at 2. I love Mike Williams and Corey Davis, but not at 2. So while I keep searching for my #2 pick, i'd like to take a moment to push a pass rusher most people aren't familiar with at a later pick.. Derek Rivers. Small school guy with a big frame, great stats, and impressive film. Check him out:

Would be a nice double down pick in the middle rounds. Good prospect for our new 4-3.

If you look at how Seattle built their team it seems safety/CB are the most elite players then the front 7 pass rush and then some offense.
So I would make sure you had elite safeties and a Bennett first on defense.
Shanalynch is putting in a higher scoring offensive system with a Seattle look defense. That is not Seattle, they don't score a lot of points.

I think our safeties are pretty good. I don't know if Ward can be an Earl Thomas but he can be a very good one and while there are very good safeties in this class I don't think it helps us that much to draft one of them.
Seattle's defense was good but it went to a totally different level when they added Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril. With a good pass rush ANY secondary will look better by default.

Ejuan Price is getting overlooked, led the league in sacks Would love to add him in the later rounds. At a minimum he would be great to sub in on nickel/passing downs.

Love this I'm rolling Thomas at two (if we can't trade down) and go after this kid in the mid rds as our LEO

Somebody I don't see getting much recognition is Jordan Willis of Kan St...he looked great at the Combine. Here's his numbers in 2016:
6-4, 255 Big 12 Defensive POY, 52 tackles, 17.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, 3 passes defended, 3 FF
Coach Bill Snyder said Willis was "the epitome" of Kan St football.

I really like derek rivers. He looked really good playing out of a 4-point stance at his pro day. I think he's going to go 2nd round, maybe even late 1st if a team loves him.

Been on his bandwagon for a while now, I just haven't been in the draft forum.
