Derek Barnett DE/OLB

I love what I'm seeing so far this year out of Barnett. After Garrett this guy is the next best pass rusher in this draft. If Garrett and the top QB are out of reach, Barnett wouldn't be a bad choice.

Yup if we are drafting 4th move back a couple spots for someone to get peppers (who's a stud) and get this kid.

He's horrible against the run. Can't set the edge. One dimensional edge rusher. Maybe he'll get better film but I wouldn't take him in the first 2 rounds. He's got no hands to shed blocks and mostly tried to run around blockers.

Hes starting to get mentioned as a top 10 pick right now. He has improved his game all around, has added pass rush moves, and while he isn't great vs the run, he isn't a liability at this point. He has room to grow and has steadily improved every year.

He actually reminds me a bit of Olivier Vernon. Neither is the most athletic, but they'll get constant pressure. He just needs to convert pressure to sacks, something Vernon isn't doing right now

He's a huge liability. Florida exposed him with screens on his side. He has no read on the Tackle because all he does is try to run around them. Bama did the same with the end around. I wouldn't spend a top 60 pick on this guy unless I saw better film against the run.

He was on my "overrateds" list this offseason.

I think he'll be a good player. Maybe Andre Carter 2.0. But I like Charles Harris a lot more.

Agreed - this isn't really impressive at all unless you're going in thinking Barnett is strictly a 4-3 DE or 3-4 DE. He looks pretty slow, but he's a good enough athlete to occasionally drop back in coverage (like we ask Lynch or Brooks to do occasionally).

Not even a planned play, shows he can do more than just be a 3rd down pass rusher specialist.
