-Not the first report of his leadership being described as silent...

Largely the same complaints they had about Mariota. "This dude has great character, tremendous talent but he doesn't yell at people."![]()
These sorts of superfluous issues are how teams end up missing on good players.
Oh yeah and that Joe Montana wasn't the most outspoken guy...herd he just pointed out John candy during the last drive of the Super Bowl lol

LOL oh Jet fans...they just aren't confident in anything and rightfully so. Dirty Sachez didn't have the arm that Mitch does IMO, his pocket presence wasn't as good, and his judgment was just plain s**tty.
I will say nothing helps a young QB like a good coaching staff and I don't think Mark had that in NJ

Its actually a pretty good comparison. Sanchez biggest "weakness" at the time was he had just 16 career starts.

You'll need to provide a lot more information to make it a "pretty good comparison" than just the length of time they existed in college.

Never saw the pocket presence from Sanchez didn't think his arm and the mental aspect was that great...the only comp I see is lack of starts.
I do think mark could have been a better qb with a better coaching staff. Hope we look for a better staff to develop whomever is the qb

The thing that hurt him the most pre draft was this:
Other then that he was seen as having all the tools. This was the NFL.com profile:
Ascending talent whose intangibles for the position are just as impressive as his physical tools. ... Cerebral. ... Reads defenses well and rarely throws into coverage. ... Goes through his progression quickly and takes what the defense gives him. ... Recognizes the blitz very well for a player of his experience and often targets the defenses' weak link when being blitzed. ... Good setup and a smooth, over-the-top delivery. ... Legitimate NFL arm strength. ... Capable of making every NFL throw, including the deep ball. ... Rather than relying on pure arm strength, Sanchez combines good velocity with rare anticipation, especially for a player of his limited experience. ... Consistently releases his passes before his receivers have even made their breaks, giving the defense little time to react. ... Distributes the ball all over the field. ... Good short-, medium-, and long-range accuracy. ... Consistently places his passes where only his receiver can get it and throws a very catchable ball. ... When healthy, showed very surprising mobility for his size. ... Can evade the pass rush and will scramble if the defense gives free yards. ... Rare accuracy on the rollout. ... Squares his shoulders and can fire the ball with consistency and accuracy. ... Team captain. ... Blue-collar work ethic.

Sanchez's biggest weakness is that he makes poor decisions. Too, many INT's and fumbles at the worst times. I don't want him no where near our team.

And yet they were wrong about all those "strengths" in that writeup
...never saw that amazing pocket presence along with making the consistent correct read...it really showed once he it the NFL. I'll add Mitch IMO is more athletic and can extend plays unlike dirty...once that jets OL started allowing some pressure he folded quicker than a lawn chair.
Like I said gonna take a solid coach that can develop a qb to make it work and that can be said with 99% of these college qbs coming out, minus Andrew luck.

Dirty isn't coming here...jcool was just doing his thing saying Mitch is dirty sachez 2.0 because some jets fans think he is lol...regardless mark might have been good if provided an offensive minded HC who's developed qbs in the past. I never saw mark as a very consistent qb even in college, his production came in bunches and he ran hot and cold. Mitch has been pretty steady all yr and improved as the season went on which is something I like.
