Context doesn't favor Mitch in that game either.

Okay so only use context when it's beneficial to your argument?

You and eye will most likely not see eye to eye on many football things based on how you interpret football (and how I do) I see football as a team sport that requires everyone to make things work...just from what I've read from your posts, you don't really see it that way.

Dropped balls, backups on OL, starting RB out, poor pass blocking all play a part in a qbs play. Is what it is, I don't need to get in a long debate with you cause it will go nowhwere.

We aren't talking about UNC football we are talking about Mitch in this thread so in context I am going to focus in on just his contribution to the loss.

And there ya go again, football is a team sport a qb can't throw the ball if he doesn't have a pocket to do it. You think he has a chance to make a play on the 2 pt conversion? If you do then we have nothing else to talk about.

Always a chance but that play broke poorly. Reality is they should never have needed that 2 pt conversion at the end of the game, pick 6 would have shifted the score in their favor.
Who cares what happened or if he had a bad decision in a game. The kid is going to be a damn good quarterback. If ur gonna be picky about a play here and there, you could've done that to any quarterback coming out of college. I sure hope Shanahan takes him with the #2 pick, he's going to be a really good QB.

He's got that Alex Smith shoulder-shimmy as he scrambles in the pocket

The shoulder shimmy is naturally a throwing fake. Difference is Mitch actually throws the ball with confidence. Alex holds it and doesn't take the chance or risk. Alex is a Smart QB but he will never be able to pull a Tom Brady either. He is also a solid QB with good fundamentals but he is far from a franchise QB. That is probably the worst comparison I have ever heard.

Meh. The lack of starts is more concerning than some think. He also hasn't won a damn thing. Went 8-5 in lone season as starter. His footwork is extremely questionable. He is not a high level athlete. I'd be hesitant about placing the hopes of a Franchise in a one year starter from UNC who only won only 62% of his starts in his junior season. I don't see anywhere near the Stafford or even Wentz comps being thrown around. I'd take Wentz by a fair margin right now given the choice. I think he may end up topping out at a slightly better Blake Bortles comp. That's talking full potential.

Since when have you even heard of or talked about a Tarheels football team or player? You balk at 8 wins? You do know its North Carolina right?

The good news for him, however, is that he rarely scrambles in the pocket. He stands tall & delivers the ball with poise when pressure is coming.

And he still gets great velocity when he throws on the run, which Alex never could because he has to step all the way into his throws to get any velocity at all.
do not want lol
I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to like him if we draft him. This is the least inspiring pick between the top 3 with watson being my top pick.

But his qualities does make for a great fit for a shanny offense, but I dont see a FQB in him.

Shanny needs a guy to be able to start soon...this guy is going to need a season or two just to get up to speed.
I wouldn't stress too much. If ends being our #2, not only would Shanny have been satisfied with his tools, but it will also have meant Trubisky killed the interview process. Kyle is going to test the hell out of him from a cerebral stand point. He's going to have impressed to go #2.

Not necessarily. Long rebuild ahead.
