We always gotta take it to the extreme lol. If we were coming off our 2011 year I'd say eff yes... at this point, y'all hella reaching, only way this happens is if he's around after the mid 20s and we trade up. If y'all don't agree my time is done here lol. There's other priorities in a deep RB class. Nobody circles the wagons, like 49erswebzone.com appearently lol.

Two different discussions Smoke - is McC a good versitile player, and should we take him. Yes, and only if he drops and we have another 2 lol.

I understand. Guess at the end of the day we can all agree, bottom line is gonna be draft positioning. No way in hell you try to make it work with our first. Unless you literally have two big trade downs lined up.

I can tell you that he only took 15 snaps as a wr in 2015. I can show you his receiving numbers as a 3rd down back...they are pretty abysmal by the way...

Look at the splits...

But I mean you have a gif so I guess that explains everything.

I'm not a Stanford fan and don't follow their program so I'm not saying this as a fact but more as a question. Just how much is Shaw like JH? If you remember Gore was a beastly receiving back then JH came and he never caught a pass again. JH likes his backs pass blocking. Since Shaw is one if his disciples I got to ask is that lack of receiving production on McCaffrey or Shaw?

What a coincidence that the TV in the upper left corner seems to be on fast forward

Lol no it's not. Watch the bottom line too. It's not on FWD

College to nfl.

Mccaf is not an every-down nfl rb, like eric metcalf was not an every-down rb.

Mccaf is a pro bowl slot receiver (plus a little more).

Pair him with an high-level, accurate passer who can throw a guy open, and you'll get an unstoppable receiver.
Him and brady would be master surgery.

They did a great job trying to mask it, but sorry I am afraid it is sped up.
Don't see anything conclusive about it being sped up. Regardless, any speeding would be minimal and I don't see why it would be worth anyone's time to actually do it. Still very impressive footwork.

Oh snap! When people are convincing themselves that your workout tape is doctored -- you know you're legit.
When y'all are done analyzing McC's footwork vid, can you start on this? kthx

I can't get a good read on McCaffery at all. I think he's Reggie Bush 2.0 but I don't know if that's bad thing...Reggie Bush was actually pretty damn good for Sean Peyton in NO and that offense was pretty similar to the way almost every NFL team plays today. I think he's a great pick for an already productive offense like Carolina or Phladelphia, not a guy you're going to build an offense around.

I don't think he fits with Carolina at all. Their mantra is literally "keep pounding". Their OL, QB, RB and WR are all big and physical. I'm not sure adding McCaffrey as a supplemental piece helps that -- simply because their offense isn't predicated on speed or one-cut ability.

Don't get me wrong -- I think he helps any offense, including Carolina. I just don't see it as a fit, per se. I think teams like SF, Jax, Den, NO, and ATL among others make more sense.

IMO Reggie Bush was underused in New Orleans. Miami and Detroit used him better. Fournette would be a better option for Carolina.

I'm hoping we take Fournette at #2 so he won't be there. I agree - I think Fournette is a better fit for pretty much every team. However, Carolina still has Jonathan Stewart. McCaffery would add another dimension to their offense. He's for sure not your typical ground and pound RB that Carolina likes, but he would give them something they don't have.
Random ass Brady Quinn jersey in the background lol.

I think he's a way more polished of a WR than Bush was. Better out of the slot with great hands.
That's where I think the appeal on him is. We know he's not going to give you 20 carries through the tackles.
But you pair him up with a good RB and you can put him in the slot. So many ways. You have a creative play caller then it gets interesting.
Bush wasn't bad, but it was his injuries that really did him in and from there it was downhill for the most part.
