Carl Lawson could be the Myles Jack of this next draft. They're both superiour athletes who are fast, agile, flexible, have great balance, move gracefully... but both got bit by the injury bug. Lawson might have a big enough red flag to get GMs to question whether he'll even be able to hold up in the NFL and its 16-game seasons. He already missed all of 2014 with an ACL tear, and he missed significant time with a hip injury. I think there were some others as well. The way athletes are retiring earlier these days, can you trust a guy like that to play through the pain after he gets paid? I have serious questions. On the other hand, rehab'ing takes a ton of hard work just like keping in shape does, and Lawson is known for having a great work ethic. So maybe he'll prove some people wrong. I didn't get the Carl I wanted last year (Nassib), so maybe the Niners will get this one.

I was driving to SF with some friends, following the draft. I was literally screaming CARL LAWSON! CARL LAWSON! WERE GETTING CARL LAWSON, YESSS!!! when we traded up back into the 3rd round. Quickly turned into a CJ WHO?!?!

I don't recall many thinking Lawson would last til the 4th round. I know I mocked him at 34 in most of my way too many mock drafts

I feel you. There was so much f**kin value where he went. No idea how they missed on him. We needed a natural edge rusher but couldn't take one in the first two rounds. It's like he fell right into our lap and still didn't take him.

He's starting at LT. The Jags' OL looked damn good against the Ravens from what I read.

Graded out as the top tackle in preseason (which I know means very little).
