Carl Lawson could be the Myles Jack of this next draft. They're both superiour athletes who are fast, agile, flexible, have great balance, move gracefully... but both got bit by the injury bug. Lawson might have a big enough red flag to get GMs to question whether he'll even be able to hold up in the NFL and its 16-game seasons. He already missed all of 2014 with an ACL tear, and he missed significant time with a hip injury. I think there were some others as well. The way athletes are retiring earlier these days, can you trust a guy like that to play through the pain after he gets paid? I have serious questions. On the other hand, rehab'ing takes a ton of hard work just like keping in shape does, and Lawson is known for having a great work ethic. So maybe he'll prove some people wrong. I didn't get the Carl I wanted last year (Nassib), so maybe the Niners will get this one.

He was on path to the draft yesterday..really great energy, confident kid, they didn't ask him anything about injuries, we haven't heard anything of him being red flagged at the combine either so it seems like he's good to go.

I think the plan for Lawson looks more like this:

1st and 10: Line up Lawson at Elephant 🐘.

Offense RB carries for 3 yard loss, Lawson TFL.

2nd and 13: Line up Lawson at Elephant 🐘.

QB sacked on the play by Lawson.

3rd and 19: Line up Lawson at Elephant 🐘.

Qb sacked on the play by Lawson. FF by Lawson. Fumble return for a TD by Lawson. TD dance by Lawson.

That'd be how I would play him.

I don't think he'll be ready to play the run from the get go in base. Now 2&13?...I'll put him in.

Lawson was a f**king steal where he went. He was ER2 after Myles for me.

He had the best hands of all ER in the draft. Long arm -> Shot puts the tackle.
