I'm not as down on Cook as most but I wouldn't want him in the first couple of rounds. I really want us to reload that front 7!

If he's a 3rd/4th rounder why not!

If we can grab Spence or Ogbah in the 1st, Butler in the 2nd (very likely)

Or

Buckner in the 1st and Floyd in the 2nd (highly unlikely)

Then I'd have zero issues grabbing Cook in the 3rd, if that's who Chip wants. But I wouldn't touch him until we have already solidified a solid draft

Perfect draft to do just that but since there's a Cal boy in the draft, these guys want him

Agree. I'm not nearly as high on Goff or Wentz. Neither could start over Gabbert or Kap right now and I think both Gabbert and Kap would flourish even more in 2017 after a year in Chip's system so I'm fine with rolling with them, loading up on defense and grabbing a mid-round QB that Chip thinks he can mold.

I definitely wouldn't trade up for either QB we aren't a QB away from anything significant and neither of them are can't miss prospects. Please stay put and reload this defense. It is young and up and coming and we have a chance with this draft to set that defense up to be elite by 2017
1- Titans - Tunsil
2- Browns - Goff
3 - SD - Bosa
4- Dallas - Wentz
5- Jags - Jack
6 - Balt - Ramsey
7 - SF - Buckner
8 - Mia - Hargreaves
9 - Bucs - Floyd
10 - Giants - Stanley

Yup! These QBs are nowhere near a sure thing. They're only being talked about because this draft is weak on QBs. I'd be ok with Wentz but not at number. History tells you that if you reach for a QB, more often then not it doesn't work out. Look no further than #2if you need a reminder.

4. Tampa Bay - Ron Stanley; OT - The Bucs were not comfy that their Top player will be on the board by the 9th spot

5. Jaguars - Myles Jack; ILB

6. Ravens - Noah Spence; OLB - Suggs all over again

7. SF - Joey Bosa; DE

8. Dolphins - Jared Goff; QB - The Taneyhill Project is coming to an END

9. Dallas - Eze Elliott; RB - Once Buckner went to Cleveland, the Cowboys went with their Plan B and still landed the player they wanted 2nd

10. Giants - Jalen Ramsey; CB - Who woulda thought??

Why would we draft Bosa?
Why would the Dolphins draft Goff?
Why would the Chargers draft Wentz?
Why would the Bucs trade up for Stanley?

same reason why we drafted Armstead

same reason why miami drafted taneyhill

same reason why san diego drafted Rivers

same reason why Tenn drafted Tunsil

You do realize it has not even been a full calendar year since Miami gave Tannehill a 6 year 96 million dollar deal? Tannehill gets at least a year under Gase, but they could draft a QB in the mid rounds.
Well, well, the 49er's passed up on a touted Cal QB in Rogers ... could this be a deja Vu and they pass up on Goff if the opportunity presents itself?

Connor Cook in the 1st round? I think Baalke should stay with picking the defenses where he has better luck.

Nobody said cook in the first
1. Tunsil to Tennessee
2. Wentz to Cleveland
3. Stanley to San Diego
4. Ramsey to Dallas
5. Buckner to Jacksonville
6 *Trade* Goff to St. Louis
7. *Trade* Jack to Chicago (SF picks up Chicago's 3rd rounder and moves down 4 spots)
8. Hargraves to Miami
9. Bosa to Tampa Bay
10. Nkemdiche to N.Y. Giants

*11. Josh Doctson to SF

*25 Noah Spence to SF (SF trades its 2nd and Chicago's 3rd to Pittsburgh to move back into the 1st to take a sliding Spence away from Seattle)

Hmmm, I sure thought that this thread is based on the top 10 picks and Cooks name came up.

Guess I wuz wrong?
1. TEN -- DeForest Buckner DE Oregon
safe pick, reminiscent of when HOU took Mario Williams, plus Lewan is growing into a pretty good LT

2. CLV -- Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St.
best QB in the draft, winner, has everything you want in a QB and he's the complete opposite of Johnny Football. Level of competition is a concern, but I think this guy fits exactly what Hue Jackson wants - a mobile Andy Dalton with higher upside

3. SD -- Joey Bosa DE Ohio St.
Don't know if this is a fit or not, but he's probably the flashiest player on the board for an owner trying to make his team look as attractive as possible

4. DAL -- Jalen Ramsey FS Florida St.
Last 3 SB winners have had stellar safety play. Jerry still thinks they're contenders, DAL's safeties have sucked forever.

5. JAX -- Myles Jack LB Ohio St.
Gus Bradley gets his Bobby Wagner.

6. BAL -- Laremy Tunsil OT Ole Miss
No brainer and just feels right.

7. PHI (trade) -- Jared Goff QB California
We trade back because the 6 blue chippers in this draft are now gone. And we don't want Goff. Probably would pick up a 2nd in return, maybe a little more since Philly is going after a QB. If we stay put I predict Ronnie Stanley here.

8. MIA -- Laquan Treadwell WR Ole Miss
9. TB -- Vernon Hargreaves III CB Forida
10. NYG -- Noah Spence DE Eastern Kentucky
11. CHI -- Ronnie Stanley OT Notre Dame
12. NO -- Braxton Miller WR Ohio St.
13. SF -- Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama
He's not Patrick Willis, but he's somewhere in the grouping of Vontaze Burfict and David Harris. He's big, long and his combine #s show how much of an athlete he is. Has some pass rush to him, but he can most definitely stop the run. That's his bread and butter, I don't see anyone running on us if we have Bowman and Ragland side by side. The main knock on him is he may struggle in coverage, but with his length and athleticism, I don't see why we can't be coached up. That's the last thing LBs really learn anyways. And and on top of that, I don't care if he's a 2-down LB right away because then on 3rd downs we can sub in Tartt.
I think with Romo undergoing another bout of surgery on that collarbone, Dallas will definitely take a QB at 4. There's no way Jerry Jones is going to let his season be derailed again. Which is how he'll see it, I think. Also, Romo hasn't exactly been the most robust of players throughout his career, and he'll be 36 by the beginning of next season.

1- Titans Laremy Tunsil OT
2- Browns Carson Wentz QB
3- Chargers DeForest Buckner DL
4- Cowboys Joey Bosa DL
5- SF f/Jaguars Jared Goff QB
6- Ravens Jalen Ramsey DB
7- Jaguars f/SF Myles Jack LB
8- Dolphins Vernon Hargreaves CB
9- Bucs Ronnie Stanley OT
10- Giants Shaq Lawson DE

Niners trade their 3rd round pick and a 6th to move up and secure their QB. Jacksonville has a better offer on the table (Rams #15 and a 2nd and 3rd round pick) but prefer to move down only 2 slots to assure they come away with one of this classes premiere talents in Ramsey or Jack.
1. Titans - OT Laremy Tunsil
One of the few elite and perhaps surest prospects, Tunsil protects Mariota's blindside for the next decade.

2. Browns - QB Carson Wentz
While they could still go with Goff here, I lean towards Wentz more because of his physical. Big arm, big hands, good enough mobility. I feel he has the upside needed for what Hue wants to do.

3. Chargers - OT Ronnie Stanley
They could go with Ramsey here as well, but Stanley makes a little more sense as long as Rivers remains their QB. Watch any of their games last year and the common theme was their OL simply couldn't block. Stanley instantly becomes a starter on that OL front.

4. Cowboys - CB/S Ramsey
What they do could directly impact what the 49ers do. They could choose to draft Goff and have him groomed to be Romo's heir apparent. I just don't think they will. In comes Ramsey, who pairs with last year's combine star, Bryon Jones.

5. Jaguars - DL DeForest Buckner
Gus Bradley needs to beef up his defense. Buckner does that and provides an immediate impact both as a run defender and pass rusher. A duo of Buckner and last year's top pick Fowler Jr could wreak havoc on opposing QB's for years.

6. Ravens - DL Joey Bosa
Ravens typically go best player available and Bosa is that at this point. As Suggs continues to get older, they'll need someone else that can get to the QB as well. On top of that, the Ravens want to rebuild a stout defense and it'll start with Bosa.

7. 49ers - QB Jared Goff
The most polished and ready QB of the draft, I just can't see them passing on him if he's there. Then again, this is the same team that passed up on another Cal QB in Rodgers years go.

8. Dolphins - CB Vernon Hargreaves
The best pure corner in the draft. Despite his fine play, Grimes could end up being a cap casualty. I doubt it, but if that's the case, Hargreaves immediately becomes their #1 corner.

9. Buccaneers - OLB Noah Spence
Their pass rush is non existent and Spence could immediately jump start it. Ezekiel Elliot could be considered here if Doug Martin walks, but if they and any other team in the league learned anything from the past Super Bowl, build up that defensive front and pass rush first.

10. Giants - RB Ezekiel Elliot
They're kind of in the same situation as the Bucs. If Spence falls to them and JPP hits the market, they'll need a pass rusher and Spence could fill that. The Giants also are in dire need of a run game and Elliot is the best RB in the draft, so this is their pick with my assumption the Bucs go with Spence.

You do realize it has not even been a full calendar year since Miami gave Tannehill a 6 year 96 million dollar deal? Tannehill gets at least a year under Gase, but they could draft a QB in the mid rounds.

Please take no offense, but your reasoning is just plain dull.. I understand that Tannehill will get another year with Gase, but by now, everyone should know if he's got a bright future.

Do you think that he's got a bright future?? if so, then I can see your reason of drafting a QB in the mid round..

but if you feel strongly about Tannehill will never get this team anywhere, why not draft GOFF in the 1st???? hell, i'm the new coach, and i rather get fired with the player(s) I wanted on the roster instead of a player like Tannehill whom I am not a believer.
