If we don't draft a QB @ 7, which second tier QB do you want?

I don't know about efficient but one of the things I really like about Prescott is he did well with little help on offense. He managed to play well without a top notch OL and a run game. He was consistently under pressure and he found ways to make plays happen without a whole lot of offensive talent around him.

While Prescott suited up in Stark Vegas, in terms of the draft on the offensive side of the ball, guard Gabe Jackson was a third-rounder in 2014. Tight end Malcolm Johnson and running back Josh Robinson were both sixth-rounders in 2015.

As ESPN's Tony Kornheiser would say, "That's it. That's the list."

The only current teammate who should hear his name called this year is wide receiver De'Runnya Wilson, a draft-eligible junior with little incentive to stick around since Prescott is out of eligibility.

Without question, he's never had a lot of help.

I think some people look at him as some goofy gimmick QB but he's a legit QB prospect. A high football IQ, very intelligent in general, already has his Master's degree, came from the same offense as Tebow, has similar leadership skills but is far further along as a passer.

I like Prescott...he's improved a ton since the beginning of the 2015 season, particularly in the passing game. He's big, strong, and very athletic. Seems to be just the kind of QB Kelly would enjoy working with. He shined in the Senior Bowl, as well.

I think Kelly would be pretty happy about a guy like Prescott. A true dual-threat. He can run the football well, but is durable enough to take a beating, unlike Adams.

His passing ability has improved significantly, he gets the ball out quickly, has shown good progress in going through his progressions, this past season he was a lot more patient and willing to stay in the pocket to wait for someone to get open downfield rather than just taking off and running. He's got the tools, he just needs to put the work in to improve and refine his game.

Hmm he sounds intriguing!

For me, I'd like to see Kevin Hogan, Cody Kessler, Jacoby Brissett, Nate Sudfield, Brandon Doughty, Jake Rudock or Jake Coker on the last day of the draft.

I think with the right coaching and some decent weapons around him Hackenberg could become a good NFL qb.

How many guys who completed 56% of their passes in college went on to have a good NFL career? None in at least the past 20 years. People make up excuses for him but he just didn't get it done. To me he is Kyle Boller all over again. A rocket arm that he has no idea what to do with. A guy who will be drafted almost entirely on potential.

As far as Cardale Jones, he and Hackenberg, as I said earlier, I've got as my wild cards, and they both scare me because they're really talented, big arm, big-body kids that you want to believe in but the tape is really bad. So I don't know how long either of them, Hackenberg or Jones, will take to go from where they are today to what you would need in a functional NFL quarterback.-Mike Mayock.

Well if the Niners are not going to draft a top tier QB I would say there is no need to take one later. Keep Thompson and if Kap and Gabs don't work out draft a top tier QB next year.

Who says that they'll be in any better position next year. Because they most likely won't, and with a QB class that doesn't exactly look stellar.

I think you have to start developing a guy this year if you can get a good prospect. You don't want to be in a position of having to play a rookie next year. My preference is for Goff or Wentz , but if they wait, Prescott is someone that I think could be an exceptional player in Chip's offense given a year or two to sit and learn.
