If we don't draft a QB @ 7, which second tier QB do you want?

If the 9ers want to draft a legit franchise QB then they will have to invest that 1st round pick, if not they are just basically messing around.

Yes. You hate kaep, we get it. A qb at 7 is a waste without a line. Grab Prescott late, let kaep play one more year (gives you something to talk about) then turn it over to the kid. Maybe kaep does well enough to get us a 2nd round pick next year. We're not going anywhere this season anyways, so draft d early, rebuild our lines and watch Goff and Wentz get killed in Cleveland and la.

I think you have to start developing a guy this year if you can get a good prospect. You don't want to be in a position of having to play a rookie next year. My preference is for Goff or Wentz , but if they wait, Prescott is someone that I think could be an exceptional player in Chip's offense given a year or two to sit and learn.

I agree that you want to start developing a young QB asap and the Niners probably won't have a better draft position next year. But if they draft a QB somewhere between 15-20 next year he would be a better prospect that a 3rd rounder this year theoretically.

Prescott completed 66% of his passes playing in a defensive conference without any star talent. And every year it got better. That speaks volumes to me.

He won't be there for the 9ers in round 3.

As of right now there appears to be one legit 1st rounder next year. Prescott will likely wind up as a 2nd rounder this year. If it came down to it, I would take Prescott and start developing him, let him get familiar with the offense which he has a good skillset for in terms of having a quick throwing motion, good intermediate area accuracy and fantastic mobility.

I'd like Dak, but if it has to be in the second round I think I'd pass.

That's the thing, he played SEC defenses without having much SEC talent on his offense. Lousy OL, no run game this year, so-so WR's, and he managed to play very well in spite of all of that.

Id take Paxton Lynch early 2nd. That where I think he belongs.

As a Penn State fan and watched every game Hack played in his 3 years @ PSU I think he is better suited to go to a team where he can sit for a minimum of three years. We aren't that team & I wish that were different because when Hack was on he was a lot of fun to watch, the problem was those times came few & far between his sophomore & junior year. Now he did flourish under O'Brien his freshman year, but he had a better o-line & Allen Robinson, plus say what you will about bill O'Brien but he can coach offense & ran a pro style offense that Hackenberg liked. Also Kelly is going to want an efficient, get the ball out quick QB, that ain't Hack.

He won't make it past LA

One of my dream scenarios is taking Jack/Buckner/Bosa at 7 and trading back into the 1st for Lynch w/o giving up a future 1. I think he's a more accurate/poised version of Kap. Has a few of the same frustrating flaws, but is more comfortable throwing in traffic.

And maybe Paxton being a lot younger and seemingly more mature than Kap will give him more time and likelihood of fixing his flaws.

Late round----> Sudfeld/Doughty
Sudfeld is vastly underrated

Late round, Brandon Allen.
