If you guys doubt him, you haven't watched him in the Senior Bowl practices

341 yards in 2015.....

Of all the WRs in the NFL you could have compared Miller...
And you picked Boldin lol

Completely different styles of play

Do you mind telling me how they play different styles?? I mean, outside the speed of course..

How the hell are they similar? Q hasn't outrun a DB in years, and he uses physicality to get out of his breaks, rather than quickness. He runs precise routes to maximize efficiency and makes his money on contested balls.

Miller is an inexperienced route runner who takes extra steps, but makes up for it with quickness and speed. His proprioception is special and his vision and ability to change direction combine with his speed and acceleration combine to make him dangerous from anywhere on the field.

The burden isn't on Quest4six to prove you wrong; the burden is on you to back up your ridiculous claim.

Lol not getting drafted in the 1st. Depending on his combine, the highest he will go is round 2. Anywhere between 2-4

Antwan Randel El had something like 70 yards receiving in college, and was drafted in the 2nd round.

So Treadwell, Doctson, Thomas, Boyd and Coleman all guaranteed to go before a developmental WR and only one or two of them are going in round 1, three at the most
I like the Idea of drafting Braxton Miller. I would like to see him used as a WR and sometime a third down Back. if they had him the field in 4 WR and a TE going 5 wide the defense goes dine they could move him to RB. If the defense leave a LB in, he is a WR. it would be a mismatch.

Ur absolutely correct. I witnessed that myself and I came away amazed. He was THAT good. Not saying that it will certainly translate to games, especially at the pro level with outstanding Cornerbacks and he definitely needs to work on his hand eye coordination and focus when trying to catch the ball...but he was CLEARLY the best WR on that field during those drills and it wasn't even close. He was burning those DB's like toast.

Right and had a horrible NFL career...he avg less than 500 yards and 1.6 TD a year! There are much more polished WRs and it will come out in the combine. I'd love to draft him in the 3rd just based on athletic ability ..I think chip would get the most out of him compared to most HCs.
I think first rounds picks should have elite to rare traits. I think of their traits as "superpowers". Think Bruce Branner, Iron Man, Thor, etc. What makes them a super hero and how can they be stopped?

At the wide receiver position, I think the first question you have to ask yourself when selecting a receiver, "Will defensive coordinators stay up late at night game planning on how to defend this guy?" If you look at the top receivers in the NFL, the answer is yes. I think part of our failures in drafting a receiver, is because we really haven't drafted anyone that scares a defense. Insert Braxton Miller

DISCLAIMER: I wasn't on the bandwagon until I got to watch some of the Senior Bowl practice cut-ups this past week.

Braxton Miller is an elite athlete with elite to rare agility and quickness. If he posts a sub 4.4 forty, you can check the box for elite speed. His hands are good and improving. Natural ball skills. He is the most explosive player in the draft! He makes guys look downright foolish with some of his moves. Two time All Big Ten Player of the year at quarterback, and after 1 year looks like a bonafide star receiver. That tells me he is an elite athlete.

He embarrassed guys at the Senior Bowl who have played DB wayyy longer than he's played receiver. I think his floor is Percy Harvin/Antwaan Randle EL. I think his ceiling, is ODB Jr. without the ability to may highlight reel one handed catches. His floor is good enough for me. This team needs players on offense He's also bigger than ODB and I bet their combine numbers will be very similiar. I'm really interested to see Braxton's vertical jump. ODB had a vertical jump of almost 40. If Braxton can sniff that, that would put the icing on the cake for me. We haven't had anyone on offense , besides maybe Vernon Davis and Kaepernick of 2012, that scares defensive coordinators in a long time! Braxton Miller, in a Chip Kelly offense, would be down right scary. He can line up at RB, WR, or run the Zone-read plays. He should also be able to transition to a punt return role.

One of the three possible first round qbs will fall to 7., I think we should make a trade with a qb needy team, and pick Braxton somewhere in 10-15 range where ODB was taken. I'm also not opposed to taken him at 7, because I think he can be that good, and provide this team with some real fire power.

Teams will regret passing on him, just as teams regret passing on ODB. I think he will be one of the best players in this draft because he is an ELITE athlete. His agility, speed, explosion, and versatility, are his super-hero traits and will leave defensive-coordinators wondering how they're going to stop him.
there's already a Braxton Miller thread

I love Miller but your crazy to even talk about OBJ and Miller in the same sentence. OBJ isn't just fast he's an elite route runner, tons of WR are big and fast (Stephen hill says ) if Baalke drafts a WR that has a career stat line of 26 rec for 341 yards he's looking at getting fired. Also if you want to trade down why not pick him in the 2nd? I think he's a 3rd round pick and we haven't even seen what the underclassmen can do.

I think Chip could get he most out of Miller compared to most, but I'm not even close I mean not even close to viewing him as a top 15 pick.
lol.

The draft is littered with busts with height/speed combo like Stephen Hill has. Stephen Hill also didn't win back to back conference player of the year awards in a power conference. I agree with ODB Jr being an elite route runner. I also think that Braxton can become just as good of a route runner. That's why I put his ceiling as ODB Jr. Obviously, he's not going to make ridiculous one handed catches like Beckham. His footwork to me at the Senior Bowl prove to me that his agility and quickness will help him become this kind of route runner.

I think we hired Chip Kelly to put some fire back into the stadium. I'm all about fixing the defense, but as a fan, I want to see my team at least put up 20 points a game. We can all agree that we need playmakers at WR and Miller will be the cream of the crop. It's on record that Baalke wanted to trade UP for ODB Jr. How about trade DOWN for a player that has similar potential? That was my logic behind this post. I agree it's a bit far-fetched, but after he kills the combine, I'm not so sure it won't be.

Thanks for commenting. I've been a visiting the zone religiously since 2005, but didn't create an account until a few weeks ago! It's nice to see people as passionate about the Niners as I am.
