Totally disagree...he improved tremendously from the pocket this year and did a very good job of scanning the field, finding 2nd/3rd options downfield (not just check downs) and often looking off defenders successfully. I'd say he still needs to clean up his footwork and lower the amount off-balance throws, but overall he looked like a legit QB this year with all the necessary tools to be an NFL starter some day.

"His footwork is inconsistent and he loses accuracy when his feet are not set.
Tends to predetermine some throws and relies on a lot of back shoulder patterns, something that got him in trouble against Auburn and Alabama. Has not shown the consistency to lead his team through the air in tough road environments when the ground game is shut down."

I'm sorry that scouting report doesn't sound anything like Tim Tebow. It sounds like he's describing Tom Brady. Wow. I hope we draft your boy!

Basing your sole opinion on a player on an outdated online draft profile is silly at best.

I'm not the biggest fan of his but he did have a pretty good year playing behind a piss poor offensive line and being his teams primary rushing threat.

He showed a heck of a lot of progress in one year, improving his accuracy, showing more patience in the pocket and better overall decision making. His mechanics need work, his footwork is sloppy but that goes for some of the top QBs in this draft too.

Character wise he is a very bright guy and by all accounts, a true leader out on the field and in the locker room.

While most of the attention is on Wentz this week, I think Prescott could really open some eyes for teams looking to take a QB in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

Prescott, Hogan, Brissett, Driskel....plenty of mid round prospects I wouldn't mind them bringing in(assuming no Goff/Wentz/Lynch)
If you look at tape from 2014 and compare it to 2015, he is much improved. His decision making is better and he has a much quicker delivery. He still will force some throws but overall he is much improved. He has a "live" arm with snap in his wrist. Has a lot of tools but still in the developmental stage. Will come in as a three and should be a two his second year. May eventually be a starter but that will depend on the system and his continual development. Dak has a lot of upside but it's up to him how quickly he improves.

Your article is from 2014 so I'd say the link you posted is ALSO "silly at best"

My link was for reference not because I made up my mind on a player solely over something I read on the internet.

Last year I was quite critical of Prescott, I still feel iffy about him but he has improved leaps and bounds from where he was last year. Its not possible to deny that improvement. He also had his best season under some difficult circumstances, with poor OL play and the lack of a run game. Prescott managed and went on to have a pretty good season.

Its rare for a QB to improve so much in terms of their fundamentals over a single year. Whereas before I thought that he might have to switch positions, after this year I think he can be a future starter in the NFL provided he is given the necessary coaching and time to develop.
NFL Network ‏@nflnetwork "Dak Prescott had probably the best day of any QB."

If we miss out, or choose not to take Goff or Wentz I would be all for taking Prescott in the 3rd or 4th. I think he has more than enough potential to try and develop him.

Agreed. I also agree with Phoenix saying his improvements has been significant. He's definitely the type of QB you look to develop and could turn into something

He had a good week. I expect the 49ers to take a QB at some point in the draft, if they don't take one in the 1st or 2nd, I think Prescott would be a good fit as a guy to develop in a Chip Kelly offense. He provides a lot of upside. One of the main things I look at when it comes to QB's entering the draft is their rate of improvement throughout college. Did a guy blow up early and then flatline, has a guy pretty much stayed flat throughout college or has a guy shown consistent improvement, year after year. Prescott is one of those who has shown consistent and substantial improvement year after year.

Physically he's one of the most intriguing QB's this year. He doesn't have the strongest arm but he has a great build for the position from top to bottom, a guy that is built really thick and is a handful to tackle. His toughness running the football has never been questioned but his passing ability has improved tremendously. Last year at this time I thought that the guy would have to change positions to play in the NFL but his ability to throw from the pocket, his accuracy, footwork, ball placement....all have shown serious improvement. I think if a team is committed to giving him a couple years to develop, he continue progressing and improving, eventually being able to start in the NFL.

I also don't think that there is a better system for him than the one that Kelly has. Prescott throws with great touch on his shorter throws, its when he has to go deep that his accuracy gets funky, largely due to some correctable mechanical issues, but as far as being able to get the ball out quickly, throw short passes right on the money and threaten a defense on the ground, he has the potential to be a pretty good player in this offense.
