I don't disagree. At that point you're just taking a flyer on guys anyways.
Later round flyer can hurt with all those comp picks....doesn't he have baby hands though?
Kid would be a higher pick if he weren't sized like a smurf WR/CB. At 5-10 1/2 and 195 though, he's not too far off from Russell Wilson. Wilson is 5-11 206. Adams I don't think is built quite the same as Patrick White was either. Adams is a bit more stocky. Would not mind taking a late round flier on him.

Matt Miller tweeted the other day that VA has 8 3/4 hands...I responded with "I wonder how he does in cold weather ", VA happens to respond to my tweet saying
" I went to Eastern Washington & Oregon. Played in snowy, rainy & -15 degree wind chill games. Film don't lie." Lol

Loved What Vernon Adams Showed!!! His Arm Looked STRONG. His Lack of Height bothers me a little but I love the dude!!! I would use a 3rd rounder on him Only because He fits Chip Kelly's system Like a GLOVE!!! Yes 3rd round grade from me.

Lol
It would not hurt to take a flyer on the guy with a later round pick. I remember reading that the 49ers did talk to him at the shrine practices. So we might be interested. Like Kaep-I believe Baalke will ask Chip if he can win with this guy and if he wants to take a flyer on him.

if you are talking to Matt, then keep in mind that he states exactly the same fact in his article.

If you are indeed talking to me, then keep in mind that I don't care about some 3rd day QB-scrubs at all (save for Doughty).

Way better than K-Stink could ever imagine to be but he holds the ball way too long. He is elusive but he's begging for a monster hit in the NFL that puts him on IR. You cvan't do what he does and last long. Eventually Russell Wilson will turn the wrong way and be KO'ed. It's only a matter of time. There is a reason Tom Brady gets rid of the ball in record time. He reads the D fast and delivers.

Mark Saltveit, the guy who wrote two Chip Kelly books, has a nice breakdown on Niners Nation. Here it the summary:

Given all of that, where does Adams stand for the draft? Before today he was considered a late (5th to 7th round) pick, possibly even a UDFA. He would be a steal for San Francisco at that level, given that he's already a proven success in Chip Kelly's legacy system, largely unchanged at Oregon.

Today's great performance, if combined with a solid combine, might move him up to 3rd or 4th round, and frankly he would less of a solid bet at that level. For all his skill, there are solid reasons to think Adams is not rugged enough to survive as a starting NFL quarterback.

I see his ceiling as a potentially great backup quarterback -- not rugged enough to risk for 16 games a year, but plenty smart and focused enough to be ready to come in on short notice, and talented enough to win a tough playoff game against a strong opponent. That would be worth a fifth round pick maybe, but not a third or fourth.

After that performance I don't think he'll be there in the 6th. With the success Wilson has had in the league I think he'll be in teams discussion from the 2nd round and ultimately go in the 3rd. It helps him that this QB class is not very good

Russell Wilson in person is about 5"9 and half, maybe 5"10.
Adams has game, for sure. The one thing I'd be concerned with is his size...he's on the slight side and playing QB in the NFL can be very tough, especially in Kelly's offense. While playing for Oregon, he was very productive when he was in the game...and the Ducks' offense really suffered when he wasn't. That's a testament to his skill, but again, size matters in the NFL. Russell Wilson's not that tall, either, but he's really put together and can take the hits. Not sure Adams could.
