This O-line? Who says next year's O-line will remain the same? Do you know how much cap room we have? Over $13 mil!! We are going to totally revamp that O-line through both the draft and free agency whereby you won't even recognize it.

Oh and don't worry about the rookie QB, he will probably be sitting behind a vet for the first year anyway unless he totally smokes Gabbert or whoever free agent QB vet we might sign in his first training camp.

Goff. It is never a bad thing to have a great NFL QB. You roll the dice if you think someone will turn out to be a great NFL QB. There's also brownie points for picking the hometown kid.

Smith would be nice, though Baalke's found LBs outside the first round before.

Treadwell would also be nice, but a bit of a luxury with Baalke's rock-em-sock-em big uglies style.

He is far from a guarantee to be a solid yet great qb

Coming from a guy who liked Tim Tebow...

Goff isn't guaranteed to be great, but at this point I like his chances a lot more than any QB currently on the roster. It's a risky pick but we're never going to get a guaranteed franchise QB like Luck unless we have a #1 or #2 pick in a draft that has generational talent at the QB position. Most teams have to take a chance picking a QB who isn't Andrew Luck. It's also a risk to pass on Goff and Lynch if they're there for our first pick and hope our guy falls to us in the 2nd round or we'll be in position to draft a QB next season.

Unless you're the Colts and have Luck fall into your lap after having Peyton Manning, you have to take risks at the QB position. It just comes down to whether the 49ers think Goff is the BPA or close to it. I think we're already lucky that arguably the best QB in the draft grew up a 49ers fan and may want to play here, because this offense is bad enough that free agents or rookies may refuse to come here (the discussion about Brees finishing his career here was absurd). I don't want to draft anyone who doesn't want to be a 49er and that could rule out a lot of players this year.

Sorry $13 mil at the moment, but it will be more like $60 mil come the end of the season by all accounts.

I would love to have a dominant defense again but it would nice to finally have a dominant offense. It's been over 10 years with a midiocre offense
Goff. Duh. Franchise QB > anything else.

Goff would be the best QB the Niners have had since Young.

This is looking great, it looks like the fans are finally coming to their senses.

When this poll first started, I think it was like 70% Jaylon Smith and 30% Jared Goff. Look at it now, is almost even Stevens. Give it a little more time, I reckon Jared Goff will take the lead soon all the way until the draft.
Man I don't even like Goff that much. I took sometime and watched a couple of his games and he was alright, but I don't think he is the best quarterback in he draft. As many holes as this team has, we need to take the BPA, probably each time we pick. If it's a qb, I think I'd rather have Lynch.I am not a huge fan of Treadwell either. If I had to o with anyone on this list I guess it would be Smith, he's the best player listed.
I'm torn between Smith and Goff, both are a need. I love Goff's pocket presence, he might not have the strongest arm but i think that's perfect for the WC offense. But damn Jaylon is on another level tho, his speed is something else and reminds me of younger Willis. I'd be happy with any of these two but I think a QB is more of a need since you cant win in this league without a very good QB. Goff might not be ready day 1 but future is future, If the team can give him a Good line i think he can go mid season.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Jaylon Smith makes perfect sense and I wouldn't be upset if we draft him. That said, this team needs a QB that we can build the team around, put fans in the seats and put the 49ers back on the map. I think Goff is our best bet.

One more vote for Goff.
