Royce Freeman - Oregon Rb

Royce Freeman would be an excellent OZ runner, and his size is something we'll be missing if Hyde walks. A more athletic Jordan Howard.

Might actually be my first choice for RB in the draft based purely on value if we don't sign a guy in FA

The problem I have with players from Oregon is that unless they already graduated, they are in the hole, because they can't practice until their class graduates. LMJ did not fair well in the NFL, is this guy way better and a different class of runner?

Yes
LMJ was a product of the chip kelly offense, any back with decent vision and speed would have thrived in that offense

Freeman is the focal point of their offense. He's a big back that can run and is very shifty
Not to mention he is a threat in the passing game
He reminds me of Ajayi, both backs had a lot of tread taken off in college... but the talent is there and undeniable

I think his perfect fit is in a ZBS where he splits time with another back. Aka here

LMJ was a system guy. Freeman has legit vision and is very decisive. He's very much a different class of runner and is kind of getting lost in the shuffle in a RB heavy year in the draft but I believe he can do everything that Alfred Morris did for the Shanahans in Washington and then some.

The rules have been relaxed to allow some participation in OTA's

Didn't he graduate?

Looks like he can handle some passes

Good vision and footwork, kinda a one cut guy...think he's a fit for OZ
He's like 234 and I think if you can get him down to say 225ish he'll have even more burst. Could be a steal in the 4th or 5th

He's pretty shredded. His natural weight is around 234 so no need to cut weight just for the hell of it.

I'd hope so, he's been there since Joey Harrington was the QB.
Pick him up mid rd steal with the jet

Would be a nice duo, he's pretty solid all around. Niners met with him
Penny.

This guy can be a consolation. Unless one can articulate why Penny is not a better choice than Freeman.
