Look I'm sorry you're still butt hurt because you got called out for making dumb posts but you should let that go. This is a completely different thread and if you had followed the thread at all instead of popping in to be a douche you would have a slight understanding of what's going on with respect to this thread about Carson Wentz. Your grudge stalker game is weak.

And what insightful comments have you made about Wentz? Show me one and I will apologize for my comments to you.

Gabbert is the same size, a much better athlete, and had turned pro at the same age as Wentz made his first college start. Why would you even consider drafting the guy?

So we should only draft a QB if he is younger, faster and has better size than Gabbert? Gabbert is a solid backup, and an ok starter. If they feel a FRANCHISE QB is available in this draft, then they better do it.

Yeah, but they have Gabbert under contract for less than $2 million next year. #7 overall pick takes home about $10 million next season. There isn't any reason to assume that Wentz would be even close to Gabbert as a pro, since he isn't close to him as a prospect.

iirc Gabbert threw for around 450 yards in his final bowl game, and he was 2 years younger than Wentz is at time. Plus it was much higher quality opponent.

I come in just to check out what's going on in the Wentz thread and there's GreatGabbert trolling the Wentz thread just like he does every other thread.

Well, obviously a high QB draft pick has to be compared to Gabbert who's the starter of the moment. It's not like he's 39 years old and on his last legs. It becomes an either/or situation very quickly if they use a top 10 pick at the position, and I can't see where any of these guys is likely to pan out better than what they have. At a very cheap price. I'm stating my reasons with facts. Not just popping in to drop a personal smear because I'm bored and can't think of anything substantial, like yourself.

I think a good spot for him would be the Texans. They need a QB and he'll be the best available when they pick.
Carson - The Smoke Screen - Wentz.

That's his new nickname.
I'd rather have Wentz than Lynch.
Goff will be a Niner. No need to discuss Wentz or Lynch.

I hope not

Not I, but I don't want to spend a high pick on a qb this draft.

They have Gabbert under contract for one more year and then he's an unrestricted free agent who can go wherever he wants. And Gabbert hasn't lived up to where he was drafted so it's ridiculous to say someone can't be as good as him if they aren't a top 10 prospect or highly ranked high school prospect. If Gabbert was somehow entered in the draft again, he'd be a mid-round prospect because he hasn't improved much and is now 26. He's not a better prospect than Derek Carr right now just because he was ranked higher coming out of college. You need to stop living in the past.

If Gabbert plays pretty well next year, he'll get paid significantly more than anyone we draft at 7 or in the 2nd round if Wentz falls. If he doesn't play well, we may have to reach for a QB in the next draft in what could be a worse QB class. Either way, we need to find a backup QB because Dylan Thompson sucks and Kaepernick is being cut or traded.

Just wanted to point out that this is one of the most absurd things I've read on here. There's no reason to assume that any of these guys will be even close to Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell since they aren't close to them as prospects. We shouldn't draft anyone because there have been highly rated players at every position who were busts...
