RB Leonard Fournette

I don't get this line of reasoning. Its a strong class yes, but there is no doubt that Fournette is at the top of this class. So that says even more about Fournette.

Its not like he is some surprise prospect. The kid has been the #1 ranked prospect at every level he has played. Coming out of high school he was regarded as the #1 recruit in the nation. And he has carried that rank through college. His history shows that baring extremely unfortunate circumstances that he will be dominate.

This. I don't understand the comment by Heroism either. People seriously need to watch tape before they post opinions without knowing what they're talking about.

Lol that breakdown of Fournette is done by a buddy of mine.

You might want to rewatch that. He talks about how Fournette's pitfall is his inconsistency with zone runs.

Guess what Kyle Shanahan's entire offense revolves around?

I saw it, but then why would Kyle consider Fournette when Delvin Cook would be better suited for his offense? (but never drafted as high as #2)
We don't know who is being "considered". All these rumors and reports are conjecture. Kyle said it himself today that he's barely watched tape on any college players.

That's why I gotta stop reading the news

Who would you draft?

Fournette got slapped around like a school yard b***h against alabama twice! I don't even think he averaged 2 YPC in either game. what a special player!

meanwhile Watson is putting up over a 1000 yards and 8 Touchdowns in 2 games against Bama. lol

To be fair, Bama has several NFL players on their defense and so does Clemson. LSU has....Fournette?
His weight for his height is a little concerning.

LSU has tons of talent, don't give me that lol Every single year, literally every single year, they have one of the top recruiting classes in the country. A couple LSU Tigers will go in the first round of this up coming draft, Most likely 2 in the top 10.

and if he couldn't muster over 2 YPC against nfl caliber players in college with an NFL caliber O-line, he isn't special.

I think he may be good in the NFL, but I dont think he is some special player. I may be wrong, and hope I am if we draft him.

I see easily your point but I think scheming was a pretty big issue on offense and I'm not even a college guy. They recruit well, develop pretty solid as well, but scheming on offense? Against Nick Sabans D(yeah the one Watson went off on twice on the biggest games) ? Fournette never had a chance.
Well people are saying that he is the next Adrian Peterson as far as impact. With no QB, he is someone who you can build around, especially with a new or young QB. With that said this is the combine and the season of smoke mirrors and lies. Get someone to trade up for him or maybe move back to draft while collecting an extra pick.

With that said Shanahan said they are at the combine to get into their head and heart, they will breakdown the film with them when they visit, he is not going to do the Gruden thing at the combine and break down film of their college play. Which may be good by being different, lot of these candidates are prepared now a days for what happens at the combine.
23 pages on a guy not even on our board?

That's not true, who knows who is actually on the niners board or how high, this is a process, never kno they might love the idea of a Fournette/Hyde duo, I mean it does seem very scary..

I'm pretty sure the reason the Vikings never got over the hump is because they drafted Christian Ponder and Teddy Bridgewater. Both ended up being complete misses. Not because they missed out on drafting someone else. Peterson helped the Vikings win a lot of games.

I'm not sure yet if Fournette can be that guy or if he even fits this system but if he is and he can then he should be in consideration.

Right so by the time their team became good their RB was old and hurt...fournette's running style doesn't equal a long NFL career imo

You are giving bad examples. The Vikings and Rams weren't so good not because of their star RBs, but because of all the years of surrounding them with garbage. If you believe he's an Adrian Peterson type of RB and there is no QB worth it then it's a no brainer.

You cite them Vikes and Rams, I'll cite the Cowboys both Elliott and Emmitt Smith.

Which team are we closer to the Rams or the cowboys?? By the time we become good our "stud" RB will be hurt and old, just like AP.

It's not a no brainer when your team is trash and you have no qb...look at the Bama games they stacked the box on the great fournette and he did jack squat.

RB is far from our top need... pass
