And Thomas is 3rd overall plus plays a more important role

I am done with the BS from the bullsh*tters and not the thread.

Jesus man, this is embarrassing. I'm glad you have your guy and you're going to bat for him, I respect that even if I don't agree with your reasoning.

But what exactly makes your opinion valid while people who disagree are "bullsh*tters"?

Most people aren't coming in here saying "Fournette is awful, no thanks"

People have legit reasons for not wanting us to draft him at #2 overall, reasons which you love to call BS and "ignore". If you have a legit reason why people shouldn't have the logic they do and Fournette is the must have pick then don't ignore those, address them and let people see if they want to change their minds.

I have nothing against Fournette, he's a great RB talent. My issue with why I don't want us drafting him has nothing to do with his talent. It has everything to do with drafting a RB that high when it's a huge need and its' not a high impact position anymore. It's also a position that needs so much help to really take games over, especially with his running style. This isn't Barry Sanders. If teams are stacking 8-9 in the box and our OL isn't dominating as big as he is, as fast as he is..he's not taking over games. His play against Alabama is a perfect example of that. If you think 2.5 ypc vs the best college defense is worth #2 overall that's fine. Just don't claim people who don't feel the same way are just saying BS.

Thing of beauty!! Leonard Fournette to the 9ers at 2 from Luke Easterling, Draft Wire.

When you have a player of this caliber, you just can't pass on such a talent. Plus, no reaching involved, BPA at 2.

Matt Miller is also back with Fournette at 2. Good stuff.

Defenses can usually take away something but they can't take away everything. Defenses give up something to stack the box and that's what Shanahan is going to take advantage of. I agree with Rascal and think that Fournette's upside is too much to pass on. Shanahan can make him into an amazing "offensive weapon." Yes, #2 is not ideal but that's where they are at the moment. None of the other players really justify a #2 either but they have to pick someone.

Come on Gil!! Wtf.

145. Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona State

Ranked ahead of Witherspoon.

Lol...

And no. Don't reply to this trying to tell me that a Kicker is the 145th best player in this draft.

See this is a good discussion.

I think Fournette is a great talent but my biggest issue is the rushing game was not an issue last year, it could certainly have been improved and your point is right, if we can get teams to bring down extra players to stop the run it will certainly open things up for the passing game but few teams will do that if the passing game is respectable as it is and if our defense continues to be as bad as it was last year we won't be able to run the ball long as we'll be down very quick.

Look what Alabama did to him. As talented as he is he's not the once in a generation RB that some people are trying to make him be, the fact that how he runs isn't a perfect fit for Shanahan's system means we'll have to change things around to play him to his strengths. What's the point of bringing in a HC like Shanahan only to change his system around?

3 team fits for LF via PFF :

None of the 3 are us, and all 3 are teams that like to run downhill which would prove to be more optimal fits for him.

Nah, we're all being ignored/invisible. If it happens we welcome him and look forward to the season ahead.
