RB Leonard Fournette

Use this draft for its strength and go heavy on defense unless the board screams offense as BPA.

Next year go offense. It becomes even easier if we can sign Cousins, though I'm still hopeful to land one of the top QBs next year.

Or we could get our qb right now and get him developing, possibly land a stud receiver like Davis in the 2nd, and with the depth of the defense class this year still do great.

Hyde averaged .4 yards per carry more than David Johnson...Johnson must be awful too right?

No QB worth it at #2 to develop. Davis isn't falling to the 2nd either.

And you don't really draft guys that high to develop unless you have a legit starter.

Some of Kap's runs were on scrambles. Bunch were designed runs. You want to remove those and pretend those runs don't somehow go to a RB?

What you're doing is taking away runs by a QB and saying without them we're awful. If we gave those carries to the RBs only we're not that low. Yet I'm the one bending facts?

You don't know that.

Are you trying to jack up the RB corps' production by 468 yards??

Plus, not to mention Kap's average yard per rush is much higher at 6.8 yards.

Trubisky. Barring the unseen and Hoyer magically turning into Gannon he's a bridge anyway we go about it. He's either bridging a year for Cousins or a rookie.

I like Trubisky and I still dont think he is really worth the #2 pick. He has talent but is more of a long term project. You could wind up with another Kaepernick situation where a guy never develops the mechanics to be a consistent NFL passer. You dont draft that at #2.
Pick Fournette and you basically get Hershel Walker for the best 5 years of his life on a cheaper rookie contract

He's got a much better throwing motion than Kap does and is already a full field reader. He does have some mechanics to clean up and a lot of footwork to be taught but the tools are there. With qb's you're drafting for the next 10 years and passing on a Rodgers or Ryan proves as to be just as detrimental as missing on one.

Cheaper rookie contract? If you're going to make silly comparisons Fournette's cheap rookie contract at #2 would make him one of the highest paid RBs in the league so how the hell are we saving money?

Not to mention you don't draft for just 5 years.

I want what you are smoking. BTW how many lombardi trophies did Herschel win and carry his team to?

Very odd comparison. Not to mention Walker averaged less than 700 yards per season.

So yeah let's draft Fournette at #2 and hope he can get us that type of production for a cheap rookie contract...cheap rookie contract putting him top 5 at RB salaries.

I hear you man, some fans here are smoking the Fournette sauce and are dishing it out using complete emotional bias lol.

Here is the best comparison - if Fournette compared to Barry Sanders we would all be tempted because that dude didn't even need an offensive line, but...how many super bowls did he carry his team to? Zero....and it was a way different league back then.

We understand Fournette is good and has great potential, it just doesn't make sense with our team.

He helped Dallas win a bunch of SB trophies.

Lol. I love how people keep bringing up that Hyde has one year left on his deal, insinuating that he would be expensive to resign but neglecting to mention that Fournette would be one of the better paid RBs in the NFL from Day 1 without having proven a thing.

hahaahah - Sad, but true.

Watch - he will go to the panthers and be a monster then these guys will all say see- we shoulda drafted him! yeah because we have a Cam newton caliber qb, an o-line, and a top ten defense to compliment him right? lol
