9ers need help this year. They already have a raw OL in Brown. If this guy becomes ready it won't be until next year. He's already missed so much time for someone who needs it. I don't mind not losing a 5th round pick since Baalke has made some nice choices in that round. Rounds 1-5 are the most valuable IMO. If they could have spent a 6th or 7th that would have been fine but no higher. The Rams spending a 5th rounder on a guy more for potential with a suspect history tells me they still think they have OL issues. Not disappointed that we couldn't land this guy at all. He could be good but so could a lot of guys.

They were saying he won't play until 2016? I don't think he's that good right now. Seems to lose a lot to speed rushers. He's average.

man the Rams really invested a lot in their Oline this year. Battle comes with a ton of baggage though.

I think it's a smart move by the Rams... 5th round is where the guy belongs and even if he sits for a year and learn to play the position... the main thins is, he's got the size and will be working hard to be w/the team.. and even if it doesn't work out, then they only lose a 5th..
