Well it is Henderson State. Is that even DII? Impressive none the less. I swear someone on this board had us taking this kid in a mock draft video he did, can't remember name. Ring a bell for any of you? I'll search for it. He had him as a 2nd rounder btw

Div 2 school in Our-Kansas.

Thanks Phoenix. I found the poster I was talking about, its footballgameplan emdiggy. Now to find that thread.........

No doubt.
White is a VERY good pickup. Special teams ace. Coach Saban made some glowing remarks about him about a month ago on the radio. Says he was their most valuable special teamer last year.

Found it. He posted this in Jan, thread is inside the war room or something.

Maybe he can give us more on this pickup, I know he happy we got him.
Darius Davis was a guy I was looking at as a late round pick. I noticed him because he's a unique physical specimen. 5-11 225.

You mean he's 20 pounds heavier than necessary and is still that fast and elusive!??

I'm starting to have some hopes for this guy

Two favorite UDFAs we've gotten so far: WR Dres Anderson (son of Flipper Anderson) and OLB Marcus Rush. Both should've been drafted. Way more talented than UDFA players, in my opinion. If Anderson is healthy, he has a tremendous shot at making the team. Wouldn't rule out Rush either.

Rush had rock solid production (7.5 sacks with 10.5 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and a kick blocked -- special teams contributor, anyone?) to go with terrific workout numbers (40 time: 4.68, Bench Reps: 24, Vertical Jump: 34, Broad Jump: 09'09", 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.28, 3-Cone Drill: 6.73). Have to believe this is a case of doubters thinking the kid is too small and knock him for his arm length (32-inches). Wonder if they make try to kick him inside or not.

Emory Hunt is the guy who made the mock. He's a draft analysis (not a 49ers fan that I know of). While I like to read some of things he says (he focuses on alot of small school guys), I don't take his draft grades to seriously. He has some outlandish grades. Gave Ron Fields, CB, Texas A&M Commerce a 1st round grade and compared him to Richard Sherman. Gave Tray Walker, CB, Texas Southern a 3rd round grade. Austin Dodge, QB, Southern Oregon a 2nd round grade. Seeing a trend yet?

I was thinking the same exact thing OTC. He has that motor you can't teach, which only helps inside. I'm sure he'd be okay shedding blocks since he did it on every play. Only thing would be instincts, which unfortunately is most important. I would try it
for sure

LOL trust me man I don't take his grades seriously at all, which was my reason to recall this thing in the first place. I thought he was a fan because I swear he did an interview with our ST coach as well and posts here all the time
No place kickers were drafted this year. Any chance we sign one of the top guys like Manton and possibly replace Dawson and his huge cap hit?

He's an intriguing pick up for sure. His highlight reel is hilarious. He just burns past everyone.

But keep in mind, you can be the biggest stud DII has ever seen, and you still might not be good enough to stick in the NFL. Does anyone remember watching Maurice Hicks college highlights? He TORE UP DII schools. Put up insane yards and made every defender look stupid. But he was just barely good enough to hang around as a 3rd RB on some pretty bad 9er teams.

But I do look forward to seeing Darius Davis play in the preseason.

He's a big guy

Blakeney may be big, but he's not physical.
He's a low-effort blocker and he gets bullied when he has the ball.
