The unveiling of the OTC Big Board has arrived. As some around here know, my time has been a little more limited than usual due to some wedding planning, but I've managed to find just enough time to crank out another annual Big Board. I have some notes below and disclaimers, as usual, so PLEASE READ THEM. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This is not a ranking or necessarily a mock draft either since that is impossible with the amount of trades that take place. This is a general projection of where I believe all the prospects will most likely be selected on draft day. I have highlighted the 49ers picks in bold. Though, as you may be aware, those are not necessarily the 49ers picks I think they'll take. For example, I actually believe the 49ers will take a RB, but it just happens that I haven't specifically "slotted" one to them in this board. Chalk that up to the assumption that they are certain to do some maneuvering in this draft. 49ers Historical Trends Research: In analyzing the 49ers draft trends, over the past five years they've taken a RB every year, OL every year, S every year, CB & ILB every year but one. The 49ers have heavily scouted OL this off-season, but the majority are mid round (4th) or later prospects. Exceptions include La'el Collins and Ali Marpet. Baalke tends to focus on OT to OG converts who are good fits inside. Baalke has never traded down in the 1st round of the draft. Riser/Faller Explanations: I currently have Owa Odighizuwa falling out of the 1st round due to medical red flags that reportedly have been put on him by some teams. Despite all the attention, I still am not convinced Marcus Peters is taken in the 1st, despite the clear level of talent. I think we see a Janoris Jenkins repeat, falling to the 2nd. Still might change my mind, but we'll see. What do I think the Niners will do?: I am pretty sure the 49ers have a specific player in mind for their 1st round pick, but I'm still trying to determine who that might be. My gut feeling is if they REALLY want someone who happens to fall out of the top ten, they package a deal to move up and take them there. Otherwise, they stay where they are and possibly move down in the other rounds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So, with all that said... It's getting tougher and tougher to see through the BS the Teams put out this time of year, so I like looking at player rankings (with adjustments, i.e. QB's) more than most of the mocks (although they can be great reads for entertainment purposes

)
