uhh..i thought you said you were a big Michigan fan and saw him live?

Maybe he means haven't heard much about Funchess here or on tv etc
I wouldn't mind picking him in the 2nd round if we pass on dgb in the 1st

Pass on this kid in the 1st 2 rounds.

Combine times are not always reliable either. Easy example: Look at all the real-time mashups they've done with players who clocked "faster" 40-times getting beaten by the player they're being compared to on the actual video. Some players' Pro Day times are a better indicator of their true speed, but most scouts tend to average the two, or add .10 to .15 to the time as insurance.

So, let's say we do that, Funchess' time would round out to approximately 4.59 to 4.63, which I would say is a very accurate depiction of his on-field speed. Clearly not a burner, but shows more than enough to play the WR position. I do not see him as a TE like some.

All this said, though, I see him as a 3rd round talent due to the numbers of questions and ultimate risk he comes with. In the end, he'll have to prove to a team he'd bring more value to them than the others in this class would. While many project him to go in the 2nd, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see him fall to the 3rd or even 4th.

Combine times are still a million times more reliable than pro' day.

Combine: everyone uses the same equipment, runs the same track, are timed by the same people on the same day.

Pro' day: who knows?

Pass on Funchess and draft Waller several rounds later.

I did against the Rutgers game, and we got spanked . Had a few catches but we were getting sacked and field goals were getting blocked. Wasn't a good day besides watching my team live. We lost to Rutgers.

Difference maker...I don't think so. If Baalke's going to take a TE, he'd draft someone bigger who can catch and block. He could draft a big WR, too. Already has Carrier & Millard who can fill an H-back role.

6'5 230 pounds not big enough coming out of college as a junior for a tight end? I just think he would be great to mold. He is very versatile and would help us on the 49ers red zone issues in both positions or either of the two.

I don't believe you can just take a big, slow WR and put some size on him and expect him to be a TE. TE's play with their hand in the dirt and are asked to block, just because a guy is a TE's size on paper doesn't mean he has the power in his hips, toughness or even desire to block.

At least not forthe 49ers, who play their TE's in line a lot. For a team like the Colts, Pats or Bronco's that are more finesse offenses that don't rely heavily on TE blocking, I think he might work.

If you are gonna be big and slow, you gotta have great hands, which he does not.... I think he will be around in the 3rd. Wouldn't be opposed to drafting him, but I like him more as a luxury type of WR for specific situations, not someone you count on to be an impact starter.

Graham is the exception not the norm. He is basically a big slot reciever. The Saint hardly use him as a true TE. A great receiving threat, especially in the red zone but he dosesn't fit in a lot of offenses
I still think hes one of the stars of this draft. I could see a team like New England picking him up and him being very successful.

Im with you, hope it's the NINERS getting touchdowns this year with him instead of New England.
