I feel like it's better to look at the later round prospects we have come in to get an idea of would they will be targeting later in the draft

Kwon Alexander LB LSU and Terrance Magee RB LSU

apparently SF has strong interest in both of these guys according to Eric Branch

Magee would be an interesting late round target -- a short/squatty powerful back who could be good depth behind our top line guys. Wouldn't be a guarantee to make the roster, but would be a good value later in the draft.

Interest in Alexander on the surface would seem perplexing, but you have to remember our propensity to position-switch players. I have to believe if we selected Alexander, we'd be fully intending to move him to ILB or SS.

I have to throw this out there right now. I had the opportunity to watch several more games of Breshad Perriman and they've made me change my tune completely on him. What I saw has led me to believe that Perriman's QB play greatly affected his catch totals. Kid was wide open constantly and the QB either never saw him or delivered an awful pass half the time. Reminds me a lot of what I saw with Donte Moncrief last year. I see a quick-twitch player similar to Kelvin Benjamin in the sense that while he may not possess elite quickness, he has the natural ability to simply make plays. Perriman has a lot of upside and after a much larger sample size of review, I've bumped him from the third and give him a 1st round grade now.

Yeah that was my thought with Alexander that they would switch him to a ILB (a little light in the loafers at 227 lbs though) maybe a SS like Kam Chancellor

I think if they did take Alexander, I lean more towards them converting him to safety. He's certainly got the athleticism to do it. He would be a little bit of a project, but not too much because he actually played safety as a freshman at LSU, so he has experience there. His size and arm length lead me to believe more that we are looking at him as a strong safety than ILB.
