Read somewhere a month ago that the Niners had interest in Lynden Trail OLB, Norfolk State.

Of course, add Clive Walford, TE, to the list now.
I've been thinking about who the 49ers are going to target at RB (I fully expect them to draft another one). Right now -- based on what I think we might be looking for at the position -- in no particular order, I'd say the top 5 targets for the 49ers at RB would be:
1. Duke Johnson
2. Jeremy Langford
3. Tevin Coleman
4. Javorius Allen
5. Ameer Abdullah

I wonder if Baalke/Tomsula will attend the Michigan pro day

Some they've met with are likely smoke screens...to make it look like they're really interested in them, but may not be. It's all part of the pre-draft games all teams play. I think Walford's a legit prospect they could end up drafting. Vernon's in his contract season, so they'll want to have at least one playmaking TE on board in case he bolts.
As for the RB's, I'd throw a few more into the pot:
- David Cobb. Showed the quick burst capability at Senior Bowl that surprised many. Believe he had the most rushing yds in the Big 10.
- Jay Ajayi--terrific all-purpose RB. Runs and catches the ball extremely well and has good size.
- Mike Davis. A bigger Gore. Like FG, dude's a workhorse and also versatile.
- David Johnson. Impressed everyone at the Senior Bowl. Hits the hole quickly and has good change-of-direction skills.

Take that back on Cobb...Melvin Gordon led the Big-10 in rushing. Still, Cobb had a great season.

Why not Cobb? He seems like he would be a great fit in the 3rd - 5th round.

Does it count if the player meets with one of our players? Cause Kaep has been throwing to DGB in Arizona and has officially and publicly asked Jed York to draft him.

One thing is for sure, I'm going to enjoy over the next 3 months, watching everyone's meltdown when their draft crush is not drafted by the 49ers and the ensuing calling for Baalke's head follows (susweel's lame shtick of FO putdowns doesn't count).
