Kiper's Mock

I'm not going to post it because it's subscription on ESPN's site, but FWIW he has San Francisco taking the WR from West Virginia. Over the last 10 years that Baalke has ran the scouting department for the 49ers the 49ers have drafted Vernon Davis, Alex Smith, Michael Crabtree, and AJ Jenkins as "skill" players in the 1st round. Kind of a mixed bag.

Looking forward to Phoenix49ers (when he's not raging about the drama with the 49ers/FO/coaching staff) draft analysis, along with MadDog, and OTC this year.
I don't think we take Kevin White
Also, I have a rule of thumb that if Mel Kiper Jr likes the guy, I immediately take him off my mock
White is my choice but that was before the Tomsula hire. Not sure what to think now. DL, DL, DL in the first three rounds? JK...he may bend over backwards to help the offense...or not. But with Baalke running the draft it's really hard to predict.

Tomsula's hiring will have zero influence on what Baalke decides to do. WR is their biggest need so White or Parker make sense at 15

Disagree...who the OC and DC are may drastically change the schemes and require a change in personnel.
We're gonna lose Iupati and maybe J Smith. We're gonna have to draft linemen.

We don't need a WR. Our QB needs to learn how to use the weapons he has. Brady has garbage at WR. It still works good for them. Good QB play from the pocket will make an offense run well. You can't hide a QB with the best WR's in the league. At some point they got to play better and make others around them better.

Your comparing Brady to Kap???

Pretty sure for the most part Marshall/Jeffery made Cutler a ton of cash

We need play makers and I'm all for working on the offense in the draft. Give me a WR with on the 1st 2 picks.....WR/DL for me.

B Thomas and M Martin can take over Iupati's spot...DL or WR will be the pick.

SD,
Because Kap is only an average QB IMO, all the more reason to get him better playmakers, to increase the team's chances of success. We're stuck with Kap for at least next season.

Tomsula's hiring increases the chances that Justin stays at least a year.
As far as Brady having garbage it is not quite true. He was noticeably worse last year in all statistics without Lafell and with Gronk injured.

Gronk, Lafell, Edelman, Ammendola isn't the best WR core in the NFL but its far from the worst.
You really wanna go into the season with 35 year old Boldin, Stevie, and Patton as our top targets?

We can go with Thomas, Kilgore, and Martin for interior linemen. Draft a Dlinmen in the 2nd to platoon with Tank, Dial, Ian, Dorsey, and hopefully Cowboy.
IF we are indeed going to a 4-3, D-Linemen will be a big need

Disagree...I think our current linemen, if J Smith stays, are a good mix for a 4/3. If anything the team may need to draft some speed OLBs. I think Bowman can play outside in a 4/3 but who else is there? Willis? He's an all pro MLB. Borland? Backup for Willis.

Lynch and A Smith are both DEs in the 4/3 (6'4" 270) and are very strong for their size. Of course, the team will likely still use nickle and dime packages so that would take the place of an OLB at times.

Justin might come back to play on a four man line...I'd pay money just to watch him next year. Would still likely be doubled but the stunting would be fun to watch.
