Nice work. I might want to sneak in a 3rd CB instead of Devin Smith but II wouldn't be too upset about that. I'd keep Cox over Culliver though. Would like to see your 53 man roster b/c a lot of folks gotta be cut. Especially at RB. I would think Hunter would be gone if you spending a 2nd rounder on Tevin.
I think the 4th round is too early for Grayson and I'm also not a fan of Devin Smith in the 3rd (or any WR in the 3rd following one in the 1st). But I like your first 3 picks a lot

Thanks.

Yes, like every year cuts are gonna be brutal. Without any injuries (not gonna happen) It could look like this:

53 Man Roster Projection

RB: Frank Gore, Carlos Hyde, Tevin Coleman
FB: Bruce Miller, Trey Millard
WR: Anquan Boldin, Stevie Johnson, Kevin White, Bruce Ellington, Devin Smith, Quinton Patton
TE: Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald, Derek Carrier
OT: Joe Staley, Anthony Davis, Jermey Parnell
OG: Alex Boone, Brandon Thomas, Joe Looney, Jarvis Harrison
C: Daniel Kilgore, Marcus Martin

Defense

NT: Glenn Dorsey, Ian Williams
DE: Justin Smith, Jared Odrick, Tank Carradine, Quinton Dial, Marcus Hardison
OLB: Aldon Smith, Aaron Lynch, Dan Skuta, Geneo Grissom
ILB: Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman, Chris Borland, Michael Wilhoite
CB: Chris Culliver, Tramaine Brock, Dontae Johnson, Keith Reaser, Leon McFadden
S: Antoine Bethea, Eric Reid, Jimmie Ward, Jeromy Miles, L.J. McCray

Special Teams

K: Phil Dawson
P: Andy Lee

Practice Squad

Plan B would be QB in the 3th + Phillip Dorsett in the 4th or 5th.

IMO Culliver is the better player + might be easier to retain.

If Iupati walks I don´t think there is a chance Boone will be cut before TC.

Not a fan of ditching Gabbert for a 4th round rook. Ideally you want a guy with starting experience as the backup. Gabbert, Hoyer, Cassell, Vick... Someone like that.

Not a fan of resigning Gore either. Too expensive considering we have Hyde and Coleman.

Big fan of the draft otherwise though.

Oh, and the draft should be somewhat based on what coach we have and what system we're running. Who do you think that will be?

I prefer that plan

not a fan of taken a RB early its a wasted pick as we have bigger needs ....

Thanks.

- Not sure we have the cap space this year to sign a good veteran QB but otherwise I agree.

- Gore would be a 1 year deal.

I don´t see any 3-4 DE´s in the 2015 Draft that would give us a significant upgrade over Carradine or Dial next season in the 2nd round.

Speed on the outside, a healthy OL + a Hyde/Coleman combo is just what the doctor ordered IMO.

Solid first mock DeUh - I enjoy reading your posts and mocks. A few thoughts

- Love the Jared Odrick signing. I've been on his bandwagon for the last 2 seasons. Stout against the run, and adds value as a pass rusher. Experienced in the 3-4 and 4-3 across all positions.

- Not too familiar with Miles, but he posted some good numbers for the Ravens. I wonder if we ask Dahl to take a pay cut instead of cutting him outright. Baalke seems very high on him - wonder if it's the mid-west connection. But I'm with you that we need to upgrade the position.

- If we sign Parnell, I think we cut Jonathan Martin for the cap savings. $1M for a guy who can barely play RT? Yeah, gone.

- If you extend/restructure those players, I think you have cap room for one major signing (or resigning). Food for thought.

- Love the 1-2-3 punch in the draft to address our offensive woes. All solid players, and exactly the direction we should go.

- The only two concerns I have about this mock are the CB and OLB positions. I hope we lock Cox down with an extension, or address the position in the draft. With the departure of Brooks, lack of security with Aldon, and Skuta's strength mainly as a run defender, I think we go the FA route to get a rotational pass rusher.

Otherwise, very realistic and strong upgrades to the roster. Nice job man.

Boone really came on at te end of the season and player very well.

IMO - I'd move him to LT Tackle - Staley to RT and ADavis to RG.
