Swap first round picks with the Raiders if Harbaugh gets traded there

And i dont want Cooper. He is average in size and speed. We have 12 of those WRs already. We need a tall player like Evans, Benjamin etc from last season.

What is this obsession with tall WRs? IMO, things like catching and route-running are the most important attributes for a WR. If you're all height and speed, you end up like Stephen Hill and Jon Baldwin. And Cooper is not average speed. If you've seen him play or read scouting reports, you'll also find he plays much bigger than 6-1, with his physicality and leaping ability. The NFL's a bit different than Madden. Bigger and faster does not mean better
f*ck swapping, if he goes to Oakland I want their pick regardless.

A 1st next year of course would be even better but we have enough holes that we can use the extra 2nds and 3rds and not go for the home run. Could use any of the following in the first 3 rounds: WR, TE, OL, DL, QB, RB (if no Gore), OLB (if Brooks traded, Skuta/Lemonier gone?)

I wouldn't hate the idea of going for a home run either but the way we use our WR's why bother? Better off trading for a Boldin/Johnson vet for a 4th-6th. Guys like Beckham, Evans, etc would have probably had 200 yards and a td or 2 with us. Probably would have spent half the season on the bench.

We would hopefully be running a different offense with a new coaching staff.

The obsession with "Taller" WRs is due to the pathetic stats the 49ers put up in the red zone. Having a target line up outside 1 on 1 for jump balls is a HUGE advantage. Not only for jump balls but the quick slant in red zone as the DB will expect the fade route. We DONT need another crabtree body in the line up.

And you just threw crap names out there with Baldwin and Hill. i can also throw out NON Crap height + speed WR like Megatron, Green, Dez, Julio etc, Having a WR requires a good QB and play calling of course too.

It still starts all upfront. I;d rather take O-line in 1st round and wait on any skill position until after that.
I'd just keep Harbaugh and threaten to make him sit out a year until someone is willing to trade something decent for him.
At first I thought he'd want to pick his own QB first overall. The Raiders won though. Now, i think he should take his hand picked "star" QB in Kaep with him wherever he goes. I think we trade Harbaugh and Kaep to the Raiders for Carr and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
We need to keep our 1st round pick to get a top WR like Parker.

I am not sure what we could get from trading Harbaugh.

I doubt that we could get a first or second round pick for him.

Maybe a third this year and a fourth next year. Maybe just a third this year.

How long would it take for a trade to happen?

If the team wants to move on, it just might make more sense to make the move, and not waste time waiting for a trade to happen.

Can you explain how the 49ers can make Harbaugh sit out a year?

Terrible thinking. Get a stud DL. We cant rush for anything.

Keep him by promoting him to another BS title like Player Manager like what we do with Mangini.
Does anybody know if we can trade for cap$? The cap is going up next year and were projected to be 5 mil over with cowboy, crabs, Gore and Iupati etc hitting free agency

I doubt it very, very, very much. If it could be done, we would have heard of it being done. I have never heard of a trade of a player or a coach for cap room.

Remember a coach's salary has nothing to do with the salary cap.

I don't no what kind of restriction are in these head coaches contracts. I wonder if you can change his title at all to give him a meaningless job. I would just tell him not to report to work but that he's not fired. Make Tomsula an assistant head coach that takes over day to day operations. Wait a couple months till all the coaching jobs are filled and then cut him loose in the spring before camps.

You can't trade cap space or exemptions like the NBA.

I'm only on board if the 49ers can nab Sio Moore in the process.

OK. I guess the team could go that route. But that route seems uncalled for, exceedingly vengeful and totally imbecilic.

And, it would end up creating a hell of a mess.

Constructive discharge law suit. Players pissed. Coaches pissed. Future coaching candidates put off.
