The more I watch him, the more his lack of going through progressions bothers me. Every highlight he either locks onto a receiver or ignores half of the field. Now his decisiveness and confidence in his receivers I think is good. But still, he seems like a one-read QB to me. I see 5th round at best

I like Grayson a lot as a mid-round prospect. I think you've hit on all the pluses. Just very tough to get too excited about mid-round or later QB prospects. For every Tom Brady there are a million Spergon Wynns and even Giovanni Carmazzis.
I think your point about it being a weak QB class is on the money.
The only QB prospect in this draft that really excites me is Jameis Winston--and to a lesser extent Brett Hundley. Mariota could be a huge success as well in the right system (read: Philly).
Hundley is raw, but all the tools are there and then some.
Winston is just incredible. Despite the off-field nonsense (most of which has been a trumped up media witch hunt) and his first half struggles, he makes several throws every game that just leave you speechless. Very rare to see a young guy with his ball placement skills and ability to throw receivers open. On top of that, it's very difficult to get him on the ground in the pocket and he's a threat when he leaves it. Obvious rape jokes aside, he has a lot of Ben Roethlisberger in his game.

Chris Burke Senior Bowl Day 3
Wouldn't be surprised if several teams leave Senior Bowl week with Garrett Grayson as the top QB here. Seemed to improve each day.

It's time to play Smokescreen or Not, with your host Trent Baalke!

Not sure why this would be shocking, it would be entirely reasonable for the 49ers to draft a QB this year.

After watching him 4x this year, and how he helped Colorado State, I'm convinced.. he could WILL be a player in the NFL..

The things I like about Grayson are his good arm, leadership, intelligence and a winning attitude. I think he'd be worth drafting. I also like Shane Carden, the kid from East Carolina. Mannion wasn't all that impressive yesterday at the Senior Bowl.
