Nah a second is too much to give up for him. But if we can get him for a third....

Might have to go into the top 10 to grab him. A 2nd fits the trade value chart but I would rather get it done for 2 3rd rounders (doubt one 3rd is going to work).

I think the idea of going up is worth exploring at the very least. Whether it is White or Cooper who might still be available.

I don't think top 15 teams that need a receiver view him as a legit number one.

Reason: Size 6'1 210
Production; In big games he doesn't stand out.
Tape: Dude stutter steps right into tacklers

Positive: has a quick twitch after catching the ball but can't out juke defenders.

Now that the Jets aren't taking a WR at 6 I'm worried he may fall into the Rams laps.

The Bears now need a WR at 7. I don't think they wanted to take Shelton at 7 and they may be able to get Cooper/White at that spot instead which is a better value.
Based on what we know about attacking Seattle's secondary, this guy is a seahawk killer.

They are still high on Wilson and let's face it that defense is god awful. They have bigger needs then another WR in the 1st.

I would not say they need a WR at 7 given they still have Jeffery, but they likely address WR in the draft or FA. They could take one at 7 but pass rusher is also a big need too.

switching to a 3-4 defense is difficult to build at first. A Nose Tackle, pass rushing OLB's, inside LB's, etc... That defense is terrible so I would lean towards them addressing the D first over wr.

Since last year, I've always believed that Cooper does not belong on the Top 10..

The guy is talented for sure, but I just don't see him as an AJ Green or Julio Jones type of player.. He reminds me so much of Santonio Holmes..

That's a bizarre comparison. Cooper is the most well rounded WR in the class. Holmes was fast and a decent route runner, but not at all physical. Cooper has awesome hands, is a really good route runner, showed elite quickness at the combine, and is physically much stronger than Holmes ever was. He's a couple inches taller and 23 pounds heavier than Holmes was coming out. Plus Holmes is a diva and as far as I know, Cooper has shown no signs of being one.

I didn't mean to suggest that WR was the biggest need for the Bears, but in my opinion there are 6 elite prospects in this draft (Winston, Mariota, Williams, Fowler, White, Cooper) and I think Cooper will be by far the BPA if he's there at 7. Teams tend to go BPA at a position of need and WR is a need even if it isn't as big of a need as DL or linebacker. We will see, but I can't see Cooper dropping much past 7.
Another positive for Cooper is that he's the youngest of the top WR's. Cooper is only 20 with a June 18th birthday. Parker is already 22, White will be 22 on draft day, and DGB and Strong are 21. Not a huge difference, but Cooper may not be as physically mature. He accounted for a huge # of Alabama's passing offense and could have put up even bigger numbers if he had a decent QB. Blake Sims looked horrible at the combine and I don't know if I've given Cooper enough credit for putting up 1700+ yards with Sims at the helm.

He measured 6'0 and 7/8" compared to 6'2 and 3/8" for Strong and 6'2 and 5/8" for White and Parker and he blew White away in the quickness drills (the other two didn't participate, but would likely have been slower than White in the 3 cone and shuttle). He also weighed in at a solid 211 compared to 209 for Parker, 215 for White, and 217 for Strong. He's a little smaller than these guys, but he gets open more consistently than any of them (by far). I don't think there is a big drop-off from White to Cooper at all. I loved the fire White showed at the combine and his 40 time was obviously impressive, but I like Cooper a ton and think he's at least as good a prospect as Sammy Watkins (who had a much better QB throwing him the ball in college by the way).

Cooper: 6'0 7/8" 211 10" hands, 31 1/2" arms 4.42 40, 33" vert, 120" broad, 6.71 3 cone, 3.98 shuttle
Watkins: 6'0 6/8" 211, 9 5/8" hands, 32" arms 4.43 40, 34" vert, 126" broad, 6.95 3 cone, 4.34 shuttle

Sammy was 20 when drafted with a June 14 birthday, Amari is 20 with a June 18 birthday. Sammy may be a little more explosive and faster despite the 40 time, but Cooper gets in and out of breaks better (and did way better at the quickness drills at the combine) and put up better stats his junior year with Blake Sims throwing him the football instead of Tajh Boyd.

There's a reason Cooper was considered a top 5 prospect before the combine and he did nothing to hurt his stock at the combine (he put up one of the best combine performances of anyone actually). It's a shame that White's performance has somehow caused people to sour on Cooper. They are both elite prospects. If one of them falls to a spot where we can trade up from 15 and only have to give up a 2nd round pick, I'm making that trade in a heartbeat. We passed on Odell Beckham once and I'd hate to see us do it again.

No we didn't. Just he didn't fall into our range. No objection to making trade up for Cooper tho.

I really want Cooper. I think he'd make a huge impact on this team and could be a corner piece for years. Make it happen Baalke!

He is more in the mold of a Torry Holt/Marvin Harrison type receiver.

An excellent fit next to Jeffery for the Bears would be Dorsett in the 2nd Rd at #39, still see Bears goin defense at #7 with Shelton.
