Still Aldon + JJ.
Von Miller is in Stage 3 of the leagues drug policy. One more violation and he is banished from the NFL for a minimum period of one calendar year.
Von Miller -> 47 games - 44 sacks
Aldon Smith -> 43 games - 42 sacks
---------------
JJ Watt -> 55 games - 41.5 sacks
Watt plays a different position and does more things. He is not only a sack guy. He's better than Von Miller and Aldon Smith.
Yes Captain Obvious. Thats why I put Alddon + Miller on one side and Watt on the other.

Fair enough.

Watt is clearly the superior player (over Aldon and anyone else now), and at a position that does not traditionally post numbers anywhere close to what he is producing (sacks, hits, hurries. pass defensed, tackles). Look at his stats over the past three years, and all the 1st associated with each catagory. He is on pace to be the equivalent of a modern day Bruce Smith, one of the All-Time greats.
The better question to me is, "Who would you rather have drafted, Aldon Smith or Richard Sherman? Aldon Smith or Justin Houston? Aldon or DeMarco Murray?

I take adlon if he could stay on the field. you cant ignore that watt can at least stay on the field. so its watt right now. ask this question in a season where aldon had 20 sacks and watt has 3 and im sure the answer is different.

my point is ask this question when they are both done playing then we can answer.

I would say draft JJ because of aldon's troubles outside the football field.

robert quinn and ryan kerrigan aswell. it was a legit draft for pass rushers.

If your talking off field reasons, I will take Watt.
On the field I am taking Aldon Smith hands down! Look at what Aldon has done as a situational pass rusher (rookie year), almost destroyed the single season sack record the following year (when he didn't register a sack in the final 3-4 games!), and last year after missing 5 games! He also rises to the occasion in the playoffs (see the first play in the NFCCG last year!
Watt is a beast too, so I doubt you could go wrong either way but if it's purely on field performance I am taking Aldon all day since he has actually done the same or even more in less games.

I would have taken Aldon over any of the guys you listed. Murray is a great RB but no way would he be as valuable as Smith to the Niners. I just think that a great pass rusher has more value.
Agree with Watt and simply cant see how anyone would argue Smith over him at this point unless they are clearly being a 49er homer.

JJ Watt is the Ferrari. Aldon Smith is the Corvette. The Corvette is 95% of the Ferrari, and at much less than half the cost. Now you can go out and buy some back-up vehicles for when the Corvette gets impounded.
