Kevin White WR, WVU

Combine will be a big factor in where this kid lands. Would not mind him in Scarlet and Gold at all.
I think he's like Gavin Austin last year...wasn't hugely popular but by the time the draft rolls around I don't think he'll last past pick 12

Draft Scout lists his fastest time at 4.38...not exactly slow. Watch some video on the guy...he adjusts really well to underthown balls and runs well after the catch. Not much to complain about!

Better yet, I was looking (on this board) at a list of sub 4.4 guys and only Juilo Jones was worth a damn. Sooo, may want to temper the "Speed" element with football ability.

Other positions like CB would be a better value imo

Baalke has done a great job of finding DBs in FAcy and he might sign Culliver or Cox, so I'm not sure that would be a good fit. Most see WR and DL as the two key 9er needs this draft and I agree with that. Not sure how many WRs are really first round quality but there are only a couple DL I would want and the niners aren't likely to get them. I see Goldman and Phillips jumping up boards so other options may be more attractive.

But we have a while to wait so I'm sure there will be further tumbling around on people's boards before the big day. My heart's desire is to fix the offense, which is why I want a tall, fast, strong receiver. Watching White videos I'm impressed by his ability to manhandle DBs and adjust for errant passes. The comparison to Fitzgerald seems apt if his work ethic is as great. Evidently it is as he made tremendous progress from junior to senior year.

Interesting comparison with Cooper: Wyatt with SB Nation.

Kevin White Advantages: Size, Hands, Acceleration & Release, Blocking Ability and Catching in Traffic.

Amari Cooper Advantages: Open Field Ability, Body Control, Speed and Route Running.

Draws: Character, Quickness & Agility

Who are you guys talking about running a 4.38? White?

He's not a burner but he does seem to be able to create separation and he tends to score when he gets a step on DBs. One comment about him mentioned that though he is not a track star he is very quick of the LOS and into his breaks, which allows him to be open most of the time. I think this is much more important than the 40 time, but while he plays in a competitive conference...will he be able to do the same things against the best? Dunno!
I think he will run in that 4.45-4.48 range, and that is fine for me. I am more interested in seeing him run routes on the field, looking at his footwork. In the end, I don't think the combine is going to move him anywhere. He won't be the fastest, but won't run slow. He won't press the most, but won't embarrass himself.

Look for Parker to post some really great numbers at the combine. He is going to be talked about a lot next week.

No chance
NFL Media's Mike Mayock believes West Virginia WR Kevin White will be a top 10 pick if he runs a 4.5 forty or better.

"The only question is his long speed, and there is a huge difference between (White) running 4.58 and 4.48," Mayock said. This might seem simple, but the NFL certainly can buy into this line of thinking. However, we think the best teams do not. The Combine absolutely does matter, but rather than a singular result or event, look at the prospect's entire athletic web.

He is my #1 WR and I would love if he was there at 15, We might get lucky if Cleveland goes FA WR.
