Odd that you don't very often see that critiqued on draft reports

You read the wrong magazines! Now if you read Vogue...
Personally I want us to draft the best 3-4 defensive lineman available ....I like TJE and Dial, they have a lot of potential to be solid players, but I want an impact lineman that will disrupt the flow of the offense ....Cowboy & Ray mac still have some mileage left, but we need to grab the next anchor of the defensive line .....that's what I want

plus we always want to find a speed receiver to attack downfield, we could probably find a solid WR in the first 4 rounds , Crabtree will probably be gone, and who knows if we keep Lloyd , but we need to find another receiver to throw into the mix with Boldin & Stevie ....Ellington and Patton have yet to make a splash, so naturally we need to find another playmaker to groom for future action

Ndamukong Suh will be an UFA at the end of the season. I know it's a long shot but he would be a huge upgrade.

Let me thi---NO! He's a knot head!

Seriously, Suh would be too expensive and I don't think he would fit in with our D philosophy...and he's a knothead!

We need Trent to work the same magic he has with defensive backs on DLineman picks. We need more than one.

AND 2 WR. One to eventually replace Boldin and one to be a real #1 receiver.

there's gonna be lots of big & tall WRs with speed on this draft.. but before we consider them, we need to sit and decide what we gonna do with what we already have..

Tall fast wr's tend to bust. Sorry, dunno why. They just do.

1. WR - Crabtree is gone and likely so will Lloyd
2. DE - Smith and McDonald will be a year older plus Tank will need some help
3. QB - Cannot go another season without a qualified backup
4. RB - they always take one

Secondary needs

1. CB - depending on whether Culliver re-signs
2. OLB - Brooks is a head case and Lemonier was not as effective this year. Skuta probably stays.
3. OG - Thomas could step in for Iupati if he walks but may want
4. TE - depending on what happens with Vernon for the rest of the season.

I like this but I would move the Guard from secondary to primary. I think the O line has been the seat of our problems this year and I don't like moving players from one position to another to cover injuries.

I like your number 1 primary - WR. I think if they can get a really fast WR that can catch, they will be set on the passing offense for a long time. I also like how you moved TE to the secondary, and I think VD can recover (still the rest of the season to find out if true) but if he comes back, drafting another TE can't hurt a position that is vital to this offense. Along with the O Line, I think TE has been one of the other trouble spots of this offense. As for backup QB, I think you give Gabbert one more year to prove himself then get rid of him if he can't cut it. I think when you do that, you move Josh to 2nd string.

This, I think, was the 2014 draft strategy and it worked well in my opinion. WR was a need, but free agency and trades seemed to fix that need. Same with backup QB. We got Gabbert and Josh, and I think strengthened the backup QB position again via trade and free agency. We got some free agency DB's that have been working very well for us too.

So, if we can meet the minimum talent level needs via free agency, this strategy should be used again for 2015. For example, if we can get a very fast WR that can catch through free agency, then I'm all for drafting BPA in the first round and if it's some stud RB then go for it.
