Ellington going earlier than 70 would be Jenkins-esque.

How am I trolling? I said it would be earlier than he should go...but would prove to be worth the pick after actually playing.

Would Tom Brady have been worth a top 5 pick the year he was drafted?

Draft position =/= career production

They won't stay at #30 anyway so this argument is moot.

I know you did but taking a receiver 2-3 rounds earlier than expected, especially when you have great expectations and need is a recipe for disaster when it comes to a such a high bust rate position.

And Nick is right anyway, we're moving up for Evans, Beckham, or Cooks any way. My order would be Cooks, Evans, Beckham than if we stayed put see if Latimer or finally Lee was there.

All from www.eastcoastsportsnews.com.

The Raiders thing at the tail end of this list is intriguing. If Watkins and Evans are still there at #5, what would Baalke be willing to do? The Niners have more ammunition than most teams. Gonna be interesting.

The Lions are so stupid it's unbelievable. They are WR crazy in that franchise. Every friggin year it seems like they are trying to draft the best receiver. They need help everywhere, and yet they are trying to clog up their receiver core. There is more to football than WR's.

I think we are an excellent choice for the Raiders to trade with. The value at 10 - 30 is not that big of a difference. The Raiders could trade with the Lions and get less, or they could trade with us, and get more. We'll see how stupid the Raiders and / or the Lions are.
And yet their d especially secondary sucks every year, when will those idiots learn that having stafford int prone ass throwing 50 plus times and trying to out score a team won't work in the playoffs especially with the likes of our d, seattle's and even zona's

I would puke my guts out of we passed on Watkins and drafted Evans at 5.

It will still leave us with 2, 3, 3, 5, 7, 7, 7.

If we get Watkins, the bonus for us, is that we will only be giving up #32 overall next year.

Definitely possible.

This. Ellington is a fine prospect in the third round and I would be all over taking him...just not at #30. Why when he'll likely still be there a whole round or two later?

If we're trading up for a WR, it'll be for Evans, Beckham or Cooks.

Sounds like the 49ers explored getting into the top 10 but it would cost them next year's #1 and that's not their style. Won't do it.

ROFLOL. Kawakami has zero credibility. If I was the 49ers brass, and I wanted to trade into top 10, I would want to "leak" to Kawakami....

As anal as Harbaugh and Baalke are about their stuff getting leaked, I take all of the talk about specific spots as to where we are rumored to be interested in with zero validity.

You can guarantee that if they trade up, it will be for a player they have rated #1 at a position of need. They aren't going to settle and trade up for the 2nd or 3rd best WR on their board.

If they move, it's going to be big.

If Niners have been placing calls to inquire about trading up, it doesn't mean it was leaked from our camp. Probably from teams with whom we've inquired.
Draft errbody

I don't know what to think about wide receivers anymore. If someone on here before the 2012 draft would've said that the best receivers in the draft were Alshon Jeffrey and T.Y. freaking Hilton, and that Blackmon would be a bust, everyone would have laughed them off the board and called them a troll.

I don't know that I'd call Blackmon a bust. He's been on an awful team with no QB. In the right situation, I still think he could produce.

True, but he's not playing for awhile and it's unlikely he ever gets his career on track and won't be as good as Jeffrey, who was supposed to be fat and slow, or Hilton, who was supposed to be a special teams nobody.

Blackmon isn't a bust due to performance he is bust due to stupidity. If/when he is reinstated by the league he will have to have a Calvin Johnson-esque career to make up for all of the s**t he has done.

If Aldon wasn't having a Reggie White 2.0 career he'd be a bust due to his shenanigans (it helps that he hasn't been convicted or violated a drug/abuse policy yet) as well.

Right. And those teams actually have every incentive in the world to yell to the world about other teams calling them for trade ups, because that makes their pick become more valuable.
