They absolutely did !!

Not really. You have to factor in they lost Percy Harvin as part of their round. Harvin for Patterson is a downgrade.

That's basically their whole draft, but I like the approach of concentrating the talent into a few potentially high impact players rather than aiming for a higher quantity of uncertain quality. To make things better, those 3 first rounders were all taken at good value.

The Vikings have long been my "best of the rest" team I root for so I'm happy about their bold draft and even a little jealous, but I know we have a bevy of players coming our way tomorrow, so I look forward to looking at our situation tomorrow night.

Well, you also have to take into consideration that the Vikings didn't really have a choice. The relationship with Harvin had got to the point whereby there was just no other way out but to trade him. So, to me all things considered it was a pretty good move. Patterson might be a downgrade at this point because of his rawness, but not in a year or two if it all pans out.

You hit the nail on the head :

Great Value + Great Talents = Great Draft

The move was bold, no messing about, they knew they wanted those players and they just flat out went after them and got them, period !!

Hoping for Kelce too, but starting to wonder if I'm hoping for too much. My absolute dream day would be Tank Carradine, Travis Kelce, Tyrann Mathieu, and John Jenkins (or John Hankins or Brandon Williams). It would require some maneuvering.

It seems possible. Tank at 34, Kelce or Matthieu at 61, taking the other at the bottom of the third (that's where we'd need some luck). I'm pretty sure one or more of the NTs will fall; there aren't that many teams who need one.

I missed something out, but the problem is they might need a new QB now. LOL.

And that by all accounts he's just as much of a selfish, immature d*ckhead as Harvin.

That bad ?! LOL. Well, only time will tell I guess.

There is a very good reason why the 9ers tend to avoid these type of characters.
I want Kawan Short at some point Friday.
Just a little disappointed we didn't do more in the first round. Not saying give everything up like the Vikings but still. Guess I'm just mad Rams have Austin now. Just seems like we could've done that trade as well.

Seriously, it would have been hard to beat out the Rams for Austin at 8th, it really would have cost us a bomb. Oh well, we had a good pick in Eric Reid in any case although some including me think 18th is a bit high, but you would never know cos there were rumours the Bengals wanted Reid too.

I think 2nd and 3rd rounds would be where we score big time. I see some big names coming our way such as Justin Hunter, Zach Ertz and David Amerson. I don't know, may be I am completely wrong, but there should be some biggies all the same.

Yeah, as if that ridiculous overpaid QB contract extension wasn't enough. NFL fans need a good laugh, DAL sure can be entertaining.
